Car rental prices are quite high on cruise days. A taxi may be economical. Contact Royal or Mom's Taxi of Astoria. They can give you an upfront price to the Fort..and also a recommendation for a return.

Anyone planning/ scheduling an END OF ERA party for 12/12/12?
I figure we will be in the middle of the Atlantic and perfect timing for the END and/ or BEGINNING of an era (with or without the Mayans to assist...)
Anyone have some ideas for this?:D
ciao, babe! ---> Roberto

If you are over 55, you might want to check Celebrity for the big drop in balcony prices just now for this cruise.
Thanks for the advice. Saved us all some $s...to spend on wine, slots and jewelry! lol

Astoria: The city bus is $1 each way downtown right from the pier. NEW: Pay on the bus to save a few $s. The trolley is usually FULL all day..most likely you would have to stand. Also, try WIneKraft on Pier 11 for wine. Bridge & Tunnel bottle shop to try MANY kinds of Pac NW brews. I would not suggest Mt St Helens...visit the Monument when you have more time. ENJOY Astoria, instead! The history here is incredible.....
