well, Ive read all the comments as we will be on Eden in 9 days. I booked this short intro to her just to check her out, thinking even an old HAL ship should be reasonable but am now not feeling optimistic. I hope I am pleasantly surprised. Well see! :rolleyes:

I quite agree. We are booked on Le Boreal for next July and hoping the ship will be able to be repaired. Fires do happen and we have cruised on 2 ships that have had engine fires previously - neither of which were old ships. So heres hoping the damage is repairable and we will get to sail on her in due course

we were on Ocean P in Tahiti last year and had great excursions. Most of the islands except Bora Bora and Moorea are not that developed, so the excursions are low key ones but there were a number of options each time. Many people liked Rangiroa as it was very natural and unsophisticated. In Bora Bora, you may want to check out a private tour with Patrick - I cannot recommend it highly enough. Have fun, Tahitian islands are heavenly :)

Colocruiser is correct - watch the patter as fish n chips usually served in the Wheelhouse Bar on sea days - very yummy :)
