It's not a publicity stunt! Palmer really has spent money on this project and Deltamarin, the VERY respected naval Architects have been working on the design for years. The hull has even undergone water tank testing.

QM2 has 30 ish knots, but rarely uses it. I belive a higher speed is not cost effective for such a big ship. Nobody travels on the QM2 for speed. She could do the trans in 5 days, but this is extended to conserve expensive fuel.

It's a fine line between authenticity and practicality!

The best way to make money from crusing is to build another floating resort!

Palmer has 23 Billion ish and is 69. Maybe he not worried about profit from the ship!

There will be three classes of dining rooms like the original ship. The steerage one is basic decor Irish stew etc.

...because it will look like the original Titanic, inside and out! 😉

Clive has not revealed all the details yet: but I guess Titanic Ils steerage will be like regular cruise ship inside cabins, with private bathrooms.

Would any modern cruise passenger share a cabin , with multiple bunk beds and six communal toilets and a couple of baths for hundreds of steerage passengers?

Lol. Due to SOLAS regulations, you cant build a replica Titanic in this day and age. It will be a modern ship which looks like the 1912 one. It wont have proper steerage cabins either!

Well you know the maiden cruise, but I believe it will sail around the world.

I do know that Deltamarin did largely complete the designed the Titanic II, before it was put on hold. Palmer really did spend a lot of money on the project. It was not just a 'bluff'.

Hi Lanzalady, I made a few major typos in my review, thanks for spotting them. Ambience is older than Ambition by 8 years. Neither look old, if fact Ambiences interiors look a little more modern. My grade of cabin did not have a fridge/mini-bar. Other grades might have? I've been in many ships cabins (and hotels) without a fridge. I would not cancel a cruise over a fridge! All my drinking took place in bars or the resterant, so I did not need a fridge. Most aspects of the Ambassador experience are very good, for the fare paid. However, Ambassador are bit like a 'Premier Inn'. If you want a 'Savoy' like experience, you need to book 'Crystal' or similar and pay maybe twice the fareor more! 😉

All aspects of both ships are pretty good apart from cabin plumbing and air-con. It seems to be rather hit and miss!
