  1. DW and I are cruising on the Crown Princess February 05 cruise. According to the Princess Cruise Atlas, the Ocean Medallion is in use on the Crown Princess, but the question when talking to Princess on the phone, they said that the Medallion is NOT in use on the Crown Princess. Does anyone know if it is in use or not on the Crown Princess.

    Thank you

  2. On Princess it's called "Meet & Greet".

Someone on your roll call needs to set it up with Princess.

Princess does not do it automatically.

Do check your roll call to see if anyone has a M&G set up for your sailing. :)

Thanks to all. I am actually the person that's going to set it up for our Roll Call and I wanted to know the procedure. My only question is that we are still 3 months away and have around 40 people, so i font have the foggiest what the final number will be. Can only guess!!.

  3. We will be sailing on the Sapphire Princess in March. My question is where and when does the Meet and Mingle meet??

Is it for the people in the roll call only, bor is it for anyone on board listed in the Princess Patter?

  4. I was unfortunately on the prior cruise that had the water leak causing the electrical malfunction. The problems were in the front quarter of the ship only, and began around 7:17 - 7:30 the night before debarkation. We were all in the the Tropical Theater waiting for the 'farewell show' when the lights went out. CD John and Katrina did the best they could, but after about 20 munutes or so of jokes they said that there was a electric failure and to quickly and in an orderly manner to leave the theater. Once we left and went to our stateroom we noticed that everything in front of the fore elevators were pitch black. Our room was down the lighted hall about 10 rooms from the outage. I do not know how or if the passengers were able to use their pass card to get in their room, or if they could do anything once they got in. Also during thi first hour or so, all air conditioning did not appear to work anywhere, but that was remedied. The television never worked after that. Later that night the captain announced that the problem was more severe than originally believed and said it would take awhile to correct but the ship had power to enter the mississippi to NO. That was the last announcement we heard. In the morning everything in our stateroom was still workiing and when we checked out, the front was still pitch black. No one seemed to knw what was happening at that time.

  5. I have done a lot of reading and have come up with 2 that I am definately going to eat at:

"Chartres House" and "The Original Pierre Masperos". The best part of it is that they are only one block away from each other on Chartres St near Jackson Square.

  6. We have a chance for a 11:25 flight back home from the Serenade of the Seas. Is that too early if we self checkout??

RCI suggestion is 12:00, but that is for their transfers.

Also the next flight is 2:20, and their New Orleans tour says both for flights after 2:00 and also says 3:00.

I have been unable to get a clarification from them on this. Does anyone know the real airport drop-off from their N.O. tour??

  7. We booked two tours with RomeInLimo. What can I say Salvatore made our day in Florence spectacular! Enrique made our day in Rome simply amazing! We cruised on The Serenade of The Sea on June 23, 2013 out of Barcelona, Spain. I am a cancer patient and my mobility is impaired. I was concerned that I would not be able to keep up and see everything or hold others behind. My husband wanted me to have this amazing trip. He began researching on cruisecritic.com and found that several people were posting tours with RomeInLimo. Some people were looking for other individuals sailing on the Serenade to join them and share the cost of the limo for the day.

I was a little nervous about the expense when we booked the tours, after doing a lot of research and calling the company I became convinced that this was the best opportunity for me to see these two amazing cities. Salvatore met us at the dock in Florence with a very clearly marked sign at 8:00 AM. There were eight adults in our group with our first stop in Pisa. Salvatore gave us wonderful information; what we were seeing and information about Pisa throughout our drive to Pisa. We had plenty of time in Pisa to take our photographs, tour the city center and pick up a few post cards.

Then we were on to Florence. We went to Piazza del Duomo, and had time to walk around and explore. Salvatore chose a perfect outdoor restaurant for us right in the square. He got us in with NO waiting so that we could enjoy our meal. We had tickets for 1:00 PM to see Michelangelo's David in The Galleria dell' Accademia. When we arrived there was quite a line and the gentleman at the door would not let us go in he instructed us to go and wait in the line. Salvatore escorted us to the spot at the end of the line and asked us to wait patiently. He returned a few minutes later and ushered us to the front of the line and into the Accademia. It was an amazing experience. We chose a meeting time and place and he was right there with a big smile, waiting for us in the shade! Then we were off again to Palazzo Vecchio. We had some time to wander and take photos, and then we went to a magnificent high point above the city where we could look down on the city of Florence. It was breath taking. Before beginning our trip back to the ship we stopped at the copy of Michelangelo’s David, standing in Palazzo Della Signoria, and Salvatore took us for Gelato! Our day was nothing short of amazing it was worth every cent we paid.

Our next day was spent in Rome with Enrique. Again there were eight of us. Enrique met us promptly at 8 AM and we began the 75 minute drive into Rome. Enrique was light hearted, funny and very knowledgeable. We were able to see so much of Rome thanks to Enrique's clever scheduling, We were able to see Italyx, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, the Pantheon, the (Basilica Santa Martyres) obalysc, Basilisa di San Pietiro, Basilisa di San Pietiro, we toured the Colisseum (we only did the first level because of my health), and of course we did a tour of the Vatican. Enrique asked us early in the day if we would like for him to set up lunch for us. We all agreed we would go with his suggestion. But WOW we had no idea. We went to an amazing family owned restaurant. The courses just kept pouring out of the kitchen, each one accompanied by wine and water. Every time we thought our meal was over another course came out. I believe we ate five courses of food and then dessert was served with Limoncello and a VERY strong aperitif. Our tour group conversed in advance and decided that we wanted to pay for a private guide for the Vatican, our guide was Chiara. Chiara was arranged for us by RomeInLimo. She was fantastic! We were able to see so much and Chiara knew exactly what to call our attention to. It was amazing. There were thousands of people in there. Our tour guide held up a recognizable blue and yellow flower above her head throughout the tour so that we could all stay together. She even used her little body to block others from getting in our way.

I would highly recommend RomeInLimo Tours they were kind, professional, and knowledgeable, light hearted and made our days exceptional. We were more than thrilled with our decision.

Well hello again. Hope everyone is well.

We were on the same tour with you and the Nap's with Salvatore. We agree that it was money well spent. Do you realize that it was 38 days ago. We were in other vans on the Rome day and Salernodays. Every tour was wonderful. Our driver for Rome was Mauricio and our guide was Katerine for the Vatican, Collisseum and Forum. That day was wonderful as well. From Salerno, our driver was Fernando who was a great drivedr on Amalfi and quite a character, very funny. I do not remember our Pompeii guides name, but he was very good and kept us moving. I have many fond memories of our day together.

  8. Can anyone answer.....for the guides at the Vatican and Pompeii, did you pay the guide directly or pay RIL and then they pay the guide.

    Thanks

I second NOTENTIRELYNORMAL. The guides were paid to RIL and the tips directly to the guides.

  9. Has anyone used their create a group or join a group service? Was wondering if this was better than trying to create a group through a role call.

Or creating a group on Rome In Limo site and then "advertising" it through the roll call?

    TIA

We went on 3 different RIL tours (Pisa/Florence, Rome, Amalfi / Positano / Sorrento and Pompeii and met everyone on the Roll Call. Had a great time with everyone.
