  1. Sorry for the third hand hearsay question.... but my parents went to a travel agent promo event for Celebrity Cruises in Victoria, BC this weekend, and they left the session with the belief that Celebrity would match their Princess loyalty....

Their neighbours went to the same event, and left with the same understanding. I am highly sceptical, and suggested that they ought to get something in writing from Celebrity itself before relying upon that information.

Has anyone heard of any such thing?? (I am aware that Celebrity and Princess are owned by completely different companies.... this was a Celebrity-specific event, so I don’t think there would be room for listening mis-comprehension)??🤷‍♀️🤔

  2. I am hoping to join my parents on their 14 night Baltic cruise this September on the Pacific Princess. My parents are frequent Princess cruisers, but I have only a few nights on the Star Princess under my belt (my husband and I normally cruise on Royal).

I have placed a deposit on a room for my husband and I, but I have a few questions about Princess’ procedures:

    1. My husband might not be able to get time off from work for this trip. What do I need to know about cancelling him? Can I add a different person to the reservation? (I have booked directly through Princess)

    2. If it turns out that I will be going solo, what would be the best way to do that: is there any concern that cancelling him would lead to a re-pricing of the room? Would it be better for him to just be a “no show” at the pier?

    3. Any other tips for cruising out of Dover? I am planning on arriving 2 nights in advance, are there any recommendations for where to stay?(most of the flights I am looking at arrive at Heathrow).

    4. Any other useful tips for the Pacific Princess?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. [My wife had done an internet search while on the Narita Express train for a place to eat, and we chose Takoban which serves something called Takoyaki which is some sort of fried dumpling with octopus and other fillings. We ordered more than we could eat along with some Ichiban beer. Some of the dumplings had something on the outside the writhed and wiggled 15 minutes after they were served. They were freakish. The dumplings were hot, as the restaurant probably couldn’t seat 10 people and they were frying them next to the window where you placed the order. I wasn’t there when they ordered, as the restaurant seating was full and I was scouting the terminal for a place to seat and eat, and wasn’t finding too many options. Fortunately, a few people left while they were cooking our food and we were able to sit at the counter. I can’t say I am a fan of this kind of food, but it was an interesting experience. I would love to know what caused them to writhe on the plate as long as they were sitting in front of me. It was truly weird.[/font]

I think that your Takayuki were likely topped with bonito flakes, very finely shaved dried tuna. The heat from the takoyaki causes the shavings to curl and unfurl asthenosphere shavings curl and unfurl.

  4. I prefer jury selection in my jurisdiction over yours ;) All lawyers are barred, and I can usually get friends excused before the selection date on criminal matters. Most interesting jury selection story: my husband received a summons for my first solo youth murder prosecution [emoji15]

He was denotified the next morning, and didn't attend court.

  5. We will be in your neck of the woods in less than a month (woohoo), and we plan to rent a car from MCO.

Are there still "real" tollbooths, payable in cash all the way to the coast, or are there any cashless tollbooths that I might get dinged at?? (I tried the links for the tollroad info on post 862, but they are not working for me)
