  1. There seems to be a speacialty cruise for everyone except for "open couples". I have no desire to pay inflated prices to sail on one of the chartered "swinger" ships but it would be nice to find a man, woman or couple interested in the same thing on a regular cruise.

Then it wouldn't be called a "regular" cruise.

  2. Congrats on the decision. I have been retired since Sept 2000 and do not

regret taking a buy-out package at age 54. Tomorrow is my B-Day and I

will be 64. Being a Type A personality, it only took me a few months to

settle down. DH retired at age 53 and he just turned 65.

Looking forward to our 12th cruise, we are sailing the Baltics on the Star Princess

on June 11, 2010. Have Fun..

    Thanks, Shellyc

Happy birthday a little late. I may be crawling the walls after a

month or two but I think I will find plenty to do. I want to cruise

more but my problem is finding someone to travel with. I am a

widow and I have a friend I travel with sometimes but she

is not in good health. I just don't know about cruising alone.

  3. GO FOR IT ASAP!! I put my papers in for retirement on Dec. 31, 2008 at age 62. All finances indicated now is the time, and my wife had retired a couple years prior -- so she had a fair head start (highly recommended both not retire at same time). In late Nov 2008 began to have second thoughts. Even though financial situation still looked very positive, didn't have any idea what I wanted to do with retirement freedom. Good Lord helped me decide on Dec. 7 when I had a mild stroke, so out the door I went!

Best thing that ever happened--retirement not the stroke. I have been having a great time spending more time with twin grandsons, travelling, planning travels, cooking, photography, reading, going to the gym, relaxing, and truly "smelling the roses" and any thing else I can find. I even have a part time 3 hours per day/3 day per week driving as a volunteer with local fire deparment transporting small equipment and mail between 6 fire houses. All this is to point out that you can make your retirement whatever you want. Don't force it, and just do it!!!

Good luck.. and there are many great books at the store and in the library on the subject of plannin and execution.

Sounds like you have the ideal life!!!!! Congrats and stay healthy!!

  4. I had thought about retiring last year at the end of 2008.

But my investments took a nose dive so I decided to wait. It is also

hard to leave a good paying job. (I like to spend money!)

I will also lose my insurance when I retire. So that is one reason

    I am still working.

I do like my job, but I think of all the things I could be doing and

want to do and don't have the time. I don't want to be too old

and not active enough to enjoy going and doing.

I do think you need to have a plan as to what you want to do

    and enjoy doing.

My next goal is summer of 2010.

  5. On the last night of the cruise me and my roommate were packing in our

pajamas. We both set our luggage by the door at the same time and the

door locked. Our room keys inside the room. She went next door to call

the desk for someone to come open our door. It was a while before anyone came. Meantime, every person on the ship walked down our hallway and laughed. We had to sit outside the door for quite a while before anyone came. Our traveling friends were in the room next door and during this time they walked up. Of course they had to take a picture of us and send to everyone we know.

  6. Well, I must confess, I love lobster. We don't see fresh lobster here in

West Texas very much. When I do see it, it is so very expensive. So when I am on a cruise I always order lobster. I have had good lobster and bad lobster. My absolute favorite is Maine lobster.

I have eaten the smaller lobster from the caribbean but it is much

    smaller and not as tasty.

  7. My first choice would have been Korto. Second would have been

Leanne. I never like Kenley's personality or her designs.

Leanne's designs all looked too much alike. The colors and waves

all a little boring after the first 4 or 5 outfits.

Korto has some gowns that I would wear and I liked the short

dresses also but for me they would have to be a tad longer.

    Her colors were beautiful.
