  1. Check out the Cruise Critic string headlined "NCL Escape 11/28/15". Several of us have responded there. Also, several other G&L cruisers over on the website meet me on board dot com have signed in for the Escape sailing. Looks like we will have a great crowd at the nightly LGBT cocktail party onboard!

  2. Yes. Doug&Ron from Sacramento. Booked two days ago. Friends Anthony & Jacob from Tennessee also. Think our friends from Vancouver BC might also be joining. Let the party begin! We are all over at meet me on board website too....

  3. Not sure you are aware that there is another string started for this cruise:

"NCL Epic Feb 15, 2015 7 days Western Caribbean" by rj9699. So, there are more of us going to be onboard that it might appear. We, two couples from Sacramento, will meet you all at the "Friends of Dorothy GLBT" meeting that NCL posts in the daily calendar. Looking forward to a fun cruise.

  4. My partner and I will be on the NCL Star for the New Year's cruise that departs LA on December 28th. I'm thinking this might be the same cruise as you are on. Am I correct?

We are frequent NCL cruisers, so would be glad to help keep your friends out of trouble ! There will be nightly LGBT gatherings so we look forward to meeting you there.

  5. Same here. We just got back from a trip on the Getaway in the Caribbean couple of months ago and had such a great time we started looking for another NCL cruise. Got a great deal on the Breakaway. Have been to Bermuda once before and loved it. Not much night life there, so we will have to create our own back on board the ship! See you at one of the nightly LGBT gatherings. Looking forward to meeting you.

PS Noticed that there is at least one more couple on board. Saw them on meet me on board website.

  6. Just got back from a week on the Getaway where I used iConcierge every day. It worked fine on both iPad and iPhone...although it would not allow both devices to be connected to the app at the same time. AND it was free to use the phone and texting feature. Was really useful to be able to communicate at all times with my partner, to view restaurant menus and to make reservations. Only issue I'm having now is trying to figure out how to disable the "connected/not connected" feature. I think I'm going to have to resort to deleting the app altogether in order to stop receiving these annoying pop-ups a full day after I disembarked.

  7. Does anyone know where the Niuew A will dock in St. Thomas? We had planned to take a taxi to the Red Hook Ferry and travel to St John on our own (have done this numerous times before) to go snorkeling at Trunk Bay and then hang out in Cruz Bay. But somewhere I read that we may be docking at Crown Bay on St. Thomas which requires a longer taxi ride to Red Hook. I'm wondering if it will significantly shorten our time on St. John because we will have to take a later ferry over there. We always allow at least an hour after the ferry's scheduled return to make it back to the ship.

The alternative is to buy one of the ship's shore excursions that go to St John, but both seem to be only snorkeling trips and not include any time in town (Cruz Bay). Any suggestions?

  8. The countdown has begun at our house. Already talking about what to pack and the ever-recurring question: "should we take our own snorkeling gear?". We have dragged it along on previous Caribbean cruises and then found the weather not conducive to clear water snorkeling. And then, of course, what to wear......I won't even go there.

Our group of 8 will find you all on the first evening at the LGBT gathering. (Maybe Ken and Micah, who are such experienced HAL cruisers can let us know where to look for it....is it announced in the daily onboard schedule? or do we need to go in search of a sign posted somewhere that will direct us to it?)

FYI to all of you: we are regular visitors to the ****************** website which provides a handy chat site for LGBT people going on the same cruise.

    See you in 3 weeks!
