I am having similar problems with the TUI  website. I've been trying to price a Cruise and Stay. I get a far as the yellow "choose hotel" button and nothing happens. I can get a bit further on my phone but as Jim says it's too small and I wouldn't chance booking on it. I've been using Chrome. To cap it all I then got a pop up thing asking about my experience of their website!😡

Lol.  They ask me the same question. I haven’t told them the truth yet.

I would if I could RR but apparently Chrome requires  IOS of 14 or more,my iPad IOS is only 12.5

Might be time to purchase a new device as not having  twenty twenty vision along with sausage fingers isn,t the best combo for using my mobile

Yes, that’s what I shall do eventually but I’m accessing the majority of websites I use at the moment so delaying the inevitable.  If you need details of Marella cruises then try Planet Cruise.  Their prices are the same as on Tui website but gives you the chance to browse before booking with Marella.

  3. I have the same issue on my iPad which is now 7 years old.  It no longer is automatically updated by Apple and clicking on update in systems tells me I’m up to date   I’m guessing that my iPad is no longer supported by Apple due to its age.  On both the Marella and Tui websites I can no longer see any details of cruises I’m interested in.

  4. Tourist Visa.

Only those people age between 14 and 69 need to have their fingerprints taken.  So for those over 70, there is no need to make the trip to London or Edinburgh, just send passports, photos and application form.   This is for we Brits, but worth checking for others.

  5. Just caught up with your trip reports which I enjoyed, thanks very much.

Shame you didn't enjoy Crete (it's one of my favourite islands) but if you only stayed in Heraklion then I'm not surprised. It's a large island, so a car helps to get the best out of it, especially to go up through the mountains and tiny villages, although there is also an excellent bus service covering most of the island. There are pretty harbours at both Chania and Rethymnon, plus lots of smaller harbours along the south coast. Just one day really doesn't do Crete justice and it is difficult to see much in a short time.

I just didn't want you to think that Heraklion is all there is to Crete.:)

  6. EU wants to settle the uncertainties, many in UK are having morning-after regrets. :)

Many are regretting not turning up to vote, mainly our young people, who hadn't even bothered to get out of bed.:) Oh, and one young lady at the airport who, quite frankly, should never be allowed to vote as she didn't know what she was voting for.

  7. I'm unable to give advice about preventing coughs/colds/infections but my aunt mentioned drinking good quality pineapple juice for coughs and chest infections. I'd never heard of this before so I googled it and found that apparently, it's 5 times more effective than cough syrup. Wonder if it works mixed with rum too:cool::)

  8. I think the issue with Shanghai is that it does tend to get cancelled due to weather. When QM2 sails into the River entry it is a 3 hour journey to get to Port and they have to clear the river of other craft. Its a massive exercise. I am an OC planner too but sometimes you just have to sit back and try enjoy the journey. Once you are onboard the OC just slides away.

I don't recall the river being cleared of other craft on the way into Shanghai. The fun starts on the way out, when the ship has to turn. Some of the small boats take no notice of the authorities and risk life and limb rather than wait.

  9. Remember the airlines do NOT allow aerosol sprays in checked or carry on. I had mine confiscated not too long ago :(

TSA must have an issue too

Aerosols ARE allowed in checked luggage, but not hand luggage. I always pack at least 2 and never had a problem.

  10. Stopping off in Cambodia as part of cruise for 5 hours but have been told we need to take malaria tablets. Really don't like sound of side effects but also don't want to risk malaria. Any suggestions what to use to prevent bites. Do I need tablets for such short trip? Any help appreciated

I've never taken anti-malaria tablets for Asia. If you are only in Cambodia for 5 hrs then I'm guessing you won't be out and about at night, anyway. Use deet during the day to protect against dengue and any other nasties.

  11. U used taxi's in Bangkok and used trains in Singapore or taxi's. The shuttle bus did not due the Rex last year and went to another hotel. .i was going to go and walk around and then changed my mind. Tony and i both agree on most restaurants but not once in any country did i use a card for gifts. i paid in cash at a lot of markets. not one gift was paid by card in Asia and all my lunches was in cash.

The Skytrain in Bangkok will take you to many of the interesting sights, avoids the heavy traffic too.

  12. No, not compulsory but you may have to queue a while. Day or night is entirely up to you. Personally, I'd prefer the day as you can get a better perspective rather than just seeing lights.

The ho-ho also picks up at the palm but can't remember if it's the same route as the Burj, sorry.
