  1. I originally booked a standard balcony then switched to a suite guarantee while prices were stable.  Now I am nervous about the guarantee and want to pick my own JR suite.  Ship wide prices have increased a lot since I originally booked.  I know this is hopeful thinking, but if I change rooms, do I get it at the rate it would have been when I booked?

  2. First time sailing and using the trundle beds. Are they in a fixed position or are you able to move them around a little? (We are in 8422 and have room to move it, if possible)

Also, can any sofa be made into a bed, or is that only in specific rooms?

  3. Has anyone stayed in any of these Cove balcony rooms. I know they are under the end of the galley and I think across from the laundry, I just wanted to know if there is any noise from above or aggravation with the laundry. It won't make me move I am excited about having the Cove's but just want to be prepared.

Those balconies will have a camera mounted under the lifeboats. If those were my only choices, I'd take the one closest to bow.

  4. 4 of us are traveling together. My wife & son and her sister. The plan was for the 3 of us to have a cove balcony and her sister an interior U/L. It priced better to book it as if my wife was bunking with her sister, rather than the 3/1 configuration. After booking, I realized that would cause a problem with the S&S as far as room access. My question is....can I let them know when we arrive that she would like to switch to my room? Would that cause any problems or additional charges? Any other suggestions?

  5. I think I have decided what we are doing. Catch a taxi from MoBay to Cornwall Beach. When done, walk to The Pork Pit. Flag down a taxi at PP to head back to the ship.

Is there anything I should know or be aware of??

  6. Carnival's cribs are metal and about the size of a minicrib. Our steward had it set up during dinner the first night and kept it made up every day with clean sheets.

When we took our 13 month old on the Pride we didn't take a blow up pool of any kind, he really got his fill of swimming in ports and I didn't see a good place we could have put a blow up pool for the short amount of time most kids would sit in it. As for bathing- a good tip we got was to take a tub plug (plastic circular disk basically) to lay over the drain. Then we were able to put 2-3 inches of water in the shower basin and wash our son that way. He loved it and it saved us the hassle of blowing up a tub every night!

The drain stopper is a great idea. I knew I was not bringing a pool for the shower, but still hadn't come up with anything yet. This is perfect, thanks.

  7. I was in 2248 on the port side and it is the first in the row of cove balconies on that side. That was great, only heard one neighbor, and since we sailed prior to the smoking ban on balconies we did not have to worry about smoke from balconies ahead of us.

Did you have much spray being a little closer to the bow? That is my biggest concern. We can have a more private balcony, but when you're getting wet, who cares.

  8. Po-ta-to, po-tah-to. Choose whichever floats your boat. (cruising analogy noted)

May I ask how you know where security cameras are located? I'll be in 2252 in January and was happy with my selection (under guest services) until I saw your comment regarding the cameras. Never thought about security cameras peering in my balcony. Do they really?

    Info please!

I went to the port and looked at the ship. Once I knew what I was looking for, I have a high res picture where I can find them.

    The cameras are:

    Before the 1st lifeboat

    After the 8th

    After the 12th

    2252 is safe

  9. We will be traveling with a baby and will most likely spend a lot of time on the balcony at night. We would like to have as much privacy as possible and reduce the chances of noisy or bright (balcony lights) neighbors. After ample research, I selected 2301. It is between the lifeboats and does not have one of those security cameras in our face. But now I'm considering switching to 2273. 2273 is the fist cabin in the row of coves. It has the life boat, but no camera. One if our balcony walls should be solid (ocean view is next door, no balcony) which decreases some of the effects of neighbors. I suppose there is more of a chance of sprays from the wake?

What would you do, stay or switch ??

  10. What I'm asking is if I decide to take a taxi somewhere, are we going to have a problem if we do not have the seat? I know of other transportation services and I know not all of these countries have those laws. I'm just making sure that the ones I listed do not so I can plan accordingly. Thanks.
