For the small amount of time they will be allowed on the ice, I can't imagine taking up luggage space for ice skates.
Thats exactly what I said! But being from Buffalo and my boys think they will play for the Sabres some day Ice skates are essential LOL

My boys...(7 & 9) are determined to bring their own ice skates on the Mariner next week. Is this allowed? I keep telling them it wont be worth it to bring them, but Im just a mom who doesnt know anything lol.

How were the seas? I always cruise in February and this is my first time sailing Oct 5th...
Thanks in advance...

We are sailing on the Independence of the Seas on Feb 5th, and got a great deal through our local casino to take this cruise. Just curious if anyone has had any luck...
-
Im traveling to Falmouth in Feb and we dont need an all inclusive deal, we dont drink and our traveling with our boys who just want to go to the beach and play in the sand! Is there any hope for us? Any suggestions appreciated!!

We will actually be driving. We are staying a few days in Orlando and then driving to Miami area.
Id really like to stay in a condo but for the weekends, its really expensive.
-
We will need a hotel/condo leaving out of Miami Feb 5th.
We are traveling with our Nanny so Id really like some space...any recommendations that wont break the bank?
There must be other families that have done this in the past...
Thanks so much!

Ive narrowed it down to Playa Mia being that we have 3 boys under the age of 7, they will love the water park. DO I have to book ahead of time, is space limited?
Thanks!

SO Im traveling with my family and my husband isnt one to leave the ship especially in Cozumel! We have 3 little boys 4,5,and 7 which do we go to?
Playa is $30 and includes all toys
Paradise is $3 to get in then $18 for toys
Sanchos is free I believe to get in then $12 for toys...
BUT we are 1 of 6 ships in port that day :( And did I mention the hubby hates crowds.
Ive read tons of reviews and cant decide, any help/opinion is super appreciated!

There is the small children's pool, but the other pools are all going to have adults who are consuming alcoholic beverages in them, so if drinking is a eal breaker you are stuck with the tiny children's pool area.
Where is it--what deck?
-
Quick question- Im traveling with my 3 & 6 year old on Conquest next week and had a question regarding the pool area. I realize there is an adult only area, and the pool in the middle is normally full of drunk passengers...what other options are there to take the kids swimming? IS the pool near the water slide an option?
My kids did not like Camp Carnival on our past cruise and unless they meet some friends thats not going to be an option on this one either.
Thanks in advance!

My kids HATED camp- so much so that my 5 year old tore his tag so he coudlnt go back, and the staff were excellent. I will try again this time on Conquest but Im not getting my hopes up. He'd have to find a little friend that was in there to make him go..

We arrived this past week at 11 and checked in but they made us wait until noon before they boarded anyone, and that was including FTTF and platinum members. We didn't purchase FTTF but I was so tired of waiting to get on when they called them to board my sister & I snuck in with a group and we got right on!
We did the same thing on the way off. They took our luggage at night and we just got off with the people that kept there luggage, was no big deal and it went much faster.

Im not one to complain but this guy looked like Rod Stewart and had a personality of a frog.
I haven't been on one cruise (until now) where they didnt interact with the crowd. He didnt want suggestions, he didn't want to talk, I dont think he wanted anyone to show up.
My last cruise on the Sunshine the guy was amazing and got everyone involved, there was normally standing space only. This guy was such a disappointment....
Being he was so Bad I ended up in the comedian lounge and they were FANTASTIC! Once I went to the one show, I never missed another.
The ship shows her age, but your on vacation so ENJOY yourself. The food was okay, Im not picky there just wasn't a lot of variety.

The dry dock was mostly for the crew. Yes they added the Alchemy Bar but its the crew that saw the most significant changes, and the reason I know this is I did the "Behind the Fun" tour. Its a 3 hour tour done on the last sea day and its an amazing tour of the ship to learn all the ins & outs! With the dry dock the crew has a entire new outside area at the front of the ship to enjoy, the have a new crew bar and we got to see both of them so you could see they were in desperate need of that.
From personal experience they should of updated the bathrooms in the cabins, we had an oceanview room and Im not one to take notice and complain about things, but the tile was moldy and it just seemed so worn. The ship is old and dated and you can tell.
It was still a fun cruise minus the piano bar, the guy is terrible. He doesn't interact with the crowd and he doesnt take suggestions. He was a real bummer. The comedians though were excellent.

I have cruised many times, took our first cruise on Carnival Sunshine this past February with my 2 boys, who both HATED Camp Carnival. I think my 5 year old hated it because he had to be stuck in the same age group with the 2-3 year olds, regardless.... we said we wouldn't travel with them again until they were older...but I really want to try the NCL line ( which this will be our first). I have a few questions:
Which NCL ships have the Nick characters? I've read these boards and haven't found any real reviews from parents about there overall experience? Ive read rooms are smaller, we tend to just get a balcony room.
Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you for your review, my sister is getting married on the 15th. Do you have any contacts for Elaina? I liked how you said she put 3 big tables together for you at the dining room, we also have 30 people sailing and 17 that are not. It would be nice if we could all sit together...
They also told us not to arrive at port until 10-1030..they were ready for you at 930? If so maybe we should go early as well.
Thank you in advance

Hi there- My sister is getting married on the Sunshine Feb 2015 and looking for anyone that will come to our hotel ( Radisson next to port) or a place we can drive to. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

After your amazing review I only have 1 question... When you booked this room did you think you may get bumped because it is a handicap room? Its available for my sailing and I want to grab it but we are sailing with other people and I want to remain on the same deck as them. What are your thoughts?

Well I finally did it, I used priceline and this is what I got:
Marriott San Juan Resort And Stellaris Casino
162 a night--2 nights 1/9/09 & 1/10/09.
Taxes 62.17
I think thats pretty good. Im tired of searching around.
Thanks to all who helped me out!

We were not able to process this request since our records indicate you have already made a request for this same trip. Your credit card has not been charged
Why do I get this and what do I have to do?
I waited 2 days before I went back on to bid.
I did San Juan with first (resorts) then (4 Star) then (3 Star)
Started at 120, went to 121, then 123
3 different transactions and I got that response everytime.
I really want the Sheraton which is a 3 star..any advice??
THanks

I guess I need some help. I finally put in my bid and I was rejected. So I thought I could just change my price and re-submit but it wants me to make changes as to either where I'd stay or the resort star. I dont want to change any of that, just the price.
Now what do I do?

Just wanted to say thanks for posting a great thread!
Scared to use priceline, but am definately going to try now.
