  1. Thank you. I’m well aware of that as I’ve cruised that area several times. For brevity, I refer to Beijing as I’d like to go again. Only Viking has an itinerary. To include Beijing. I’m asking if there is a reason no other line includes Beijing.

  2. My bad. Of course.  I must be losing it. So as a triple, any more crowded than non triple? The square footage shows the same. 216.
I used to do PH and changed to Concierge after my husband passed away, so just that change reduced my living space. Hate to get any smaller🫣

    appreciate your correction.

  3. Although I’ve been on Oceania over 20 times, I’ve never had a room that indicated that it accommodated 4 people. Does anyone know if the A1, A2 or 3 that are quads have more crowded space than the average A1, A2, orA3?

  4. I wanted to comment on room choice. My late husband And I went to the Antarctic, as well as the Arctic, and we had a room with a balcony. That was the greatest choice we could’ve made. Standing on the veranda isn’t as cold as you might think it is. We did stand up against the windows on some days but it makes such a difference to feel it live as opposed to looking through a window.

  5. Interesting input. Thanks folks. This is on the new Vista ship. I was originally booked in a new solo stateroom but the inaugural was cancelled, and I was put on a waitlist thus the assignment to 8001 for the TA.
I’d not thought of the light issue . I ALWAYS Sleep with my drapes open. Don’t like missing anything 🤩

  6. Interesting. Most seem to have experienced seasickness. That I don’t have, at least so far. My issue is I have trigeminal neuralgia, and wind sets it off. Can the verandah be used during sea days?
I was lucky to have gotten a booking in the new single for the inaugural; however that cruise was cancelled. I was on a wait list and I learned with an assignment to 8001. I had a choice on a port side, but I was told those bow staterooms are coveted. Since I’ve never had a bow staterooms in my cruise history, I have nothing to base my assignment on.

  7. Comments on bow staterooms please.
my late husband and I always booked 8001, 8003, or 8005 and they were perfect. We stopped when the smoking area was changed to starboard and we could smell it.   We then went to concierge as we really didn’t need a butler.

  8. Can someone please shed some light on the Oceania bow staterooms, size compared to side concierge rooms, comfort, ability to use verandah, general overall comments and opinions. Would you believe I’ve over 126 cruises in my lifetime and none have been at the bow. I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks

  9. Just did the Panama Canal on the  explorer San Diego to Miami. Love the splendor. I don’t think it’s going to make any difference whether you’re port or starboard as it depends on the locks. I’ve been through the canal multiple times, and I was on the starboard this time which was just fine.

We missed three ports on this trip because of Covid, but it was still a delightful trip. We had a very large balcony and really enjoyed it.

  10. Well Pam, I guess I’ll be seeing you at the bar also. However on the Mediterranean no one can sit at the bar. So maybe I’ll meet you walking around the deck holding a drink. My late husband and I always had our piña colada when we boarded for good luck, so that’s what I’ll be caring. I got on the board to see what’s going on with city staff and the tsunami. Any information?

  11. Well, I am one of those that scored a solo for the maiden voyage, and I’m thrilled. Pricing could be questionable, but we will see. I think the location is very good. I’ve always been more forward near the lounge, but it is not that far.  I would like to see two chairs on the balcony rather than one to accommodate a guest. Anyway, I’m excited to try the solo!

  12. I’ve done this trip several times (& I will definitely miss sailing in and out of Venice) and have stayed at the Hilton Molina Stuckey.  Our last room was a suite on the first floor overlooking the Grand Canal. Fabulous.  Did the hotel ourselves.

We found using the Hilton water shuttle got us to where we needed to go.
Hilton will arrange tours if you find you need them.

For the airport, we used the water taxi.   Free water taxi to Molina (to get buyers to the glass factory).   (Yes, I bought some beautiful glass pieces).

Get to Harry’s (not as busy when they open. Very crowded later)

We booked thru Regent for the hotel this time due to all the issues these days. They are staying at the San Clemente Palace Kempinski in Venice. They pick us up at the airport and deliver us to the hotel. The next day they transfer us to Trieste. (2-1/2 hours on bus). I tried to find a hotel in Trieste

since I haven’t been there, but could not.
