Demand isn't the issue so much as parking is.  The two lots that are there (one used by Carnival) are always over 75-80% full so where would they park cars for another ship?  We've even seen the lots almost 100% full.

I don't know how they did it parkingwise but for a year Baltimore had carnival and royal year round with a ncl ship for the Bermuda season and celebrity mercury in the fall/winter

The Evergreen Trio: The best ballroom dance group. They played on the Grandeur and the Enchantment for many years. A large number of dancers, us included, would book their cruises just to listen and dance to their music.  "Jack" (RIP) loved them, especially the singer, and would book his cruises to be there also.

They were my favorites.   Rotal made money on us when they were onboard since we'd usually eat a late lunch and skip supper.  Might get an occupational ben and Jerry's as a treat.

I just did a rough count, it’s over 30 cruises aboard Grandeur for us. I know folks that have done many times that amount. It doesn’t matter, 3 or 30, it’s a great ship with the best crew and officers in the fleet. We did the last cruise in March before Covid closed the world down. We are scheduled for March 26 2021, the last cruise. I hope it happens. We made Pinnacle aboard Grandeur last August with Captain Thor. We have many good memories and had good times sailing from Baltimore.

I made pinnacle on grandeur as well when Captain Espen was onboard.     It's so nice when you've been on enough the staff and crew tease you that they see you more than their family.   Hopefully the March cruise will be number 45 for us on her.

  4. I've been told the whole wheelchairs the ship has are for those who may get hurt on the ship.

They will usually let people with disabilities use the elevators during the drill. They do ask to be notified if someone would require help getting to their station in a real emergency so that arrangements for help can be made.

  5. Unfortunately this person did not do their research. Wheelchairs and scooters need to be rented ahead of time . There are at least 2 companies royal works with that will deliver a chair to the room and pick it up at the end of the cruise. I've done this with my mother before.

Stateroom attendants, or others, also check the rooms during a drill to help make sure everyone attends. My mom can't stand for one but the ship has always had a place inside for her to sit during the drill. In this case I'd be surprised if the daughter could not have stayed with her.
