NCL, Celebrity,Carnival (VIP members) RCCL.

We are also just off the Zuiderdam (1/27-2/7). We choose any time dining and the first night on board the line was so long, we waited 40 minutes to be seated only to have to go upstairs. Needless to say we were not happy with this situation and learned to make a reservation for the time you wanted. This avoided any other delay. As far as the show room when there was only one show it was very difficult to find seating even if you got there 15minutes ahead . Again thats the problem when 1950 passengers want to be at the same place at the same time. When there were 2 shows it was no problem with seating. I guess timing is everything. All in all it was a great cruise and enjoyed the Zuiderdam.

We did select dining and every time we got a pager with a 20 to 30 minute wait. We didn't mind because we had drinks at the Martini bar. We usually came to the dining room about 6:30 and was seated by 7. We liked this time because we were able to make the 9 o'clock show.

Recently went to Little Divi Bay beach. It was just what I wanted, Quiet, beach bar, chairs and umbrellas for rent, faciliities and just such a perfect beach. It was also only a ten minute cab ride from port. I think this is my new favorite beach on St Maarten.

I just returned from a cruise and the went to Litle Divi Bay beach. It was just a perfect beach day. NOt far from the ship by taxi, quiet, chairs and umbrellas,beach bar with some food. It is now one of my favorite beachs.

I just cruised on the NCL Getaway and I absolutely had a wonderful experience.

As a VIP of Carnival,I can honestly say The Getway was the best ship I have been on. It is a new ship 2014, and I wasn't sure if I would like this size ship, but I never felt crowded or had to stand in any lines. The buffet area is set up in stations which is a great way to have the buffet. The only drawback of the ship is the balconys are very small and I mean small.Only two straightback chairs and a tiny table. Another thing I was not familiar with is you have to make reservations for the complimentary shows, so do this either on line or as soon as you can when you board, this was not explained to me and thank goodness I heard another passenger talking about making reservations or would have probably missed out on some really fantastic shows. I really like NCL and would definately cruise again. I will still continue with Carnival but if the itinerarys are similiar for the cruise I want I will probaly book NCL. As an avid cruiser any cruise is a good cruise some are just better than others

Thank you for the great review. My husband and I are also Platinum members of Carnival and are now branching off onto other cruiselines. After your review I am really excited about the Getaway. We are from NE Pa and January is so cold so we are looking forward to our "Getaway". Thanks again for the detailed review.

I would recommend Kauai for the Helicopter tour. We used Blue Hawaiian and the scenery on Kauai is absolutely amazing. It was expensive but worth it. They pick you up right at the pier and will return you . .enjoy your tour!

we recently toured with Mary Lou and actually had her son Kyle for the driver and narrator. We were shown all the major sites, and Kyle escorted us and explained everything. The personal touch provided was top notch and I recommend them highlly. There were 3 couples in a van and was so much nicer than the big bus tours. Payment was made at the end of the tour, which was also different than dealing with the big tour companies. You won't regret going with this company.

I also tried to get NCL for a final payment. Tried different phone numbers only to have to wait with the same recording . Very frustrating as I waited almost 2 hours with my 3 phone calls. Finally went on line and was finally able to make my payment. Totally annoyed with NCL.

take a cab to Royal Palm on seven mile beach. You do not have to pay to access this beautiful beach at Royal Palm. We rented chairs and an umbrella and had a real nice beach day here. There is a bar/restaurant here although we did not eat. we did enjoy the cold Corona's !

My husband and I really enjoy the specialty restaurants. At $30pp we find that absolutely worth the money. The food, service and atmosphere is wonderful. We usually go one night , and I actually look forward to it. I do agree the dining room food is always good, however the supper clubs or steakhouse as they are now known as is just a little more special. Again thats just my opinion. If you do decide to go enjoy enjoy!

I usually bring a roll of packing tape and tape them around the handles before going to the ship. Works great and they don't rip either.
