No they didn't use Old Bay. If I remember right it was just like saltwater boiled. It was still pretty good. Crab was dungeness

Tracy's crab shack in Juneau is the rare place that is super touristy but still excellent. I love it and stop there every time in Juneau. It's touristy, so sort of expensive, but I don't think I've had better crab anywhere.

There wasn't any difference in spacing of tables between when we cruised pre-pandemic to when we were on Eurodam a few weeks ago.

No you don't need one as stated above. That said, I just got back from an Alaskan cruise I booked with the Have It All and the signature beverage package is something I will continue to get, even if it doesn't really save me money, just because of the simplicity and the fact I didn't have to police what my kids were drinking so that it didn't break my bank account.

@rsldonk this is concerning to hear! we are going on the eurodam in a few weeks with our twins the same age as yours. Did they still have a good time? did you happen to take pics or screen shots of the daily activity sheets you can share (the general ones on the ship) so i can see if there is anything they would be interested in? was there any nighttime entertainment they liked?
They had a good time doing things like excursions. The time on board, there was a lot of them just sitting in the room watching tv. They did like to go to the trivia stuff with me and loved afternoon tea.
The fact that the main lido pool is covered was also a big plus because they could swim desire the outside weather.

Just got off Eurodam from a 7 day Alaska round trip Seattle cruise (April 30-May 7). When we boarded, we took our 3 teens (17, and twin 13 year olds) to the loft to register them. We were informed that since there were only a total of 17 teens aboard that they were only going to do one activity per day. To make this worse, they scheduled it at 10 pm.
I know HAL tends to cater to an older crowd, but is this a Covid thing or is this normal?

A few more hours and I’m on the Eurodam

The Wildlife center is pretty cool. Not sure about the transfer part of it and what else is available. On the way is Alyeska resort, there's a few things there. Also, if you can stop and your timing is right, the bore tide coming up Turnagain Arm is pretty cool.

If you buy online, it hits your card in USD and then your credit card does the exchange. This is usually pretty close to market price for the exchange

Pacific Science Center is cool, that, the MoPop, and the space needle are all within like a couple of blocks of each other. You can then take the monorail to the Westlake mall (original Nordstrom) and Pike's place is like 3 blocks away. From Pike's you can walk do the waterfront where there's the ferris wheel, the aquarium, and my favorite place to eat in Seattle Ivar's acres of clams. Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe is there too, which is worth a visit just to see the mummies and stuff.
The Museum of Flight is phenomenal, but almost down to the airport and you pretty much would need either an uber or to get a car to get there.

I've had a 50 minute layover in Seattle before and luggage made it just fine. Delta not Alaska though.

The changes you list seem to be the stuff most people actually seem to enjoy, so I doubt they'll change them

Not sure about the protocols but I'm starting to have some big issues with VeriFLY. Anyone else have people like drop off the reservation?

Alaska wildlife conservation center isn't very far and one of the cooler things anywhere close. Portage Glacier is on the other side of the tunnel and that's cool. Not sure what sort of transportation you'll have available. As for GF food, good luck, I have no advice.

If 4000 other people can manage to be on time, and you can't, you deserve to be mocked.

You forgot to add which sauce to chose for those fries? Secret sauce or cheese. Or just plain plain.
Secret sauce of course!
I would probably drink the stuff, so that would also count as a drink I think

Kind of depends on what you want to do and what your interests are. I usually like to book through the ship, I find it easier and usually a comparable price.

Yes they’ll work and no it’s not roaming

While there is shore diving in Cozumel, it's not great. To dive Cozumel you definitely want a boat dive.
Chankanaab has the dive park with like some statues and stuff set up, so it is one of the few places you can shore dive. I've done shore dives at Cozumel, but not during a cruise. One of my all time favorites was from the hotel beach just a little north of the international pier (hotel casa del mar) and early evening into night. We never got deeper than about 20 feet and as night descended millions of little fish (they were translucent and about 2 inches long, not sure what species) came up into the shallows. The bigger predators came up with them and saw a bunch of squid and things. Overall a cool dive, but it was well after all the cruise ships had left for the day.
But in general, yeah, the outer reefs and walls are all boat dives

Wouldn't use the lighter, but the toothpaste is great. Make sure you rinse it really good because minty fresh in the eyes sucks. Otherwise, spit on and rub the saliva on the lenses pre dive, or use one of the commercial anti-fog things out there (the one I like is called spit and most dive shops will have it) but these only work well if you've already done the toothpaste treatment first.
-
The easiest to use camera I've owned was a sealife for recreational dive depths (130 feet max). They have a wide variety so check it out. As others have said, it depends on what you're looking to do and how deep you're going to go.

The only port of those that could possibly even have something of the sort would be Juneau and even then you're pressing your luck.
