  1. Thanks so much for this information. Actually, this is cruise-specific because we will be cruising to Norway from Southampton in May. We are staying at an airport hotel because we booked the Royal Caribbean shuttle from LHR to the ship. I know this may not be the best way to do things, but we are both “older” and we were trying to make things as simple as possible. We have been to London previously and had no need to stay in the city. At any rate,I appreciate your response and I will take a look at the sites you mentioned.

  2. My sister and I will be staying at a hotel at LHR and have reservations for a tour of Windsor Castle. What is the best(easiest) way for two mid-70’s ladies to get there and back? I thought I saw somewhere that you can take a taxi for $30-$40 one way. I understand that it is about a 7 or 8 mile drive. Would an airport taxi take us there? Are there taxis readily available in the vicinity of the castle that could return us to the airport? My sister has walking difficulties and we don’t relish the idea of having to take a bus or train that would require walking any distance to or from the castle. Can anyone advise?

I do not know exactly which product you are talking about but in my best belief it is not a dairy product
Dairy products are a collective term for the products obtained by processing milk typically in a dairy: whole milk with varying fat content, cream, yogurt, ymer, cheese, cream and similar products.

I thought that considering the creamers to be actual milk products would be a stretch, but it was the “milk derivative” that I wasn’t sure of since I don’t know how strict an interpretation was being applied. FYI, I did email the Embassy in Washington, DC. for clarification, but I would suspect that you are correct. I just wanted to be sure and not rely on my own opinion. Thank you.

  4. We will be cruising from Copenhagen next month. We always take the little flavored creamer pods with us because we don’t like actual cream or milk in our coffee. I was checking prohibited items for Denmark and it specifies milk or milk products. The creamer contains “less than 2% of sodium caseinate, a milk derivative”. Does anyone know if this would therefore not be permitted to bring in to the country? I guess I could contact the Danish Embassy for advice but thought maybe someone here might have taken this item into the country.

Hobby is closer by 45 minute. Southwest is the primary carrier there.

Also if you are considering Newark, look at flights out of LGA or JFK. I found a 6:30am flight out of LGA lands at 9;25am at IAH.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses! This has been most helpful.

    Agree.

I have seen people on here say the drive time to the port is the same as Orlando, but they must be driving a golf cart. A straight shot north on US1 then A1A, a half hour tops.

Also, Alligiant has a nonstop Pittsburg to Melbourne - tho I am not sure where Lehigh Valley is in PA.

The Lehigh Valley is near Allentown, about 50 miles north of Philly and quite a drive from Pittsburgh.

  7. We will be cruising out of Port Canaveral next summer, flying in a day early from Pennsylvania. I guess MCO is closer to the port but we are tempted by the crazy low rates on Allegiant to Sanford out of Allentown. What are some recommendations re: where to stay (area/hotel), transportation to/from port, etc? We have cruised from Miami before but never from Port Canaveral. Any and all suggestions/recommendations are welcomed. Thanks in advance!

  8. Thanks for your quick response! We still have a few small denomination Euro bills and coins left from a prior trip, so I guess we will just skip getting the leu and stick to Euros. I appreciate your help.We really didn’t want to have to fuss with different currencies. I really would have been surprised if they preferred dollars, although some countries do because of a favorable exchange rate.

  9. My sister and I will be cruising the Danube next year, stopping in Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Bulgaria. We plan to use our credit cards for most purchases, but will still need cash for guides’ tips, etc. I know each of those countries has its own currency, but is there one currency that will be accepted by all of them, such as the Euro? Or do they take/prefer dollars? I know we can get currency at ATMs but most of them dispense larger notes. We will be spending 4 nights pre-cruise in Romania so we are planning to get some Romanian leu ahead of time, but don’t know what to do about the other countries. Thanks in advance!
