My first cruise was on the Homeric [Home Lines] in the 60 's. We had an inside cabin for $400. I thought it was great!
Since then we have cruised on luxury lines and the experience that you are looking for is still around. However, you will pay for each step uphill.
Not everyone is looking for the same cruise experience. If you want value for your money, you will select the line that fulfills your needs. RC does that for many people.

My DH and I have cruised Oceania these past years , and only eat in their buffet.
Lobster tail, filet, etc. The price, however is 3 times that of RC, and the people and reviews here make me want to meet you all.
We're cruising the Grandeur in June. Can anyone tell me the best items on the buffet? [i already have a list of the worst]
Thanks in advance.

Why are posters after those submitting cautionary articles , and ridiculing those who don't want to get off the ship ?
We have been on the islands many times. We now cruise to be on the ship, not visit the islands. We don't cower in our suite when docked. I'm not getting off in PR because I've been there, done that.
I appreciate the news updates from wshaw859.
When people buy a lottery ticket they think that they will be the one out of millions that will win. Now people think that out of thousands getting off the ships, they will be the one NOT to get bitten.

The information you posted has been a great benefit to many.
We are cruising to St Martin this month, and Oceania has not notified us of this problem.
No way will we get off the ship.
To hear what has actually happened to a passenger is a message that should be heard.
Everyone can act on this as they want.
I appreciate your post.

St Maartin has a mosquito outbreak causing major symptoms.
Other cruise lines have notified their passengers.
We have heard nothing from Oceania.

Thanks so much for posting. We're cruising there next month, and I'm not getting off the ship. No sense taking chances .

Please be aware that waiters and waitresses are people that are trying to make a living the best way they can.
Can you spell EMPATHY ?

After over 10 years cruising, Radisson [the best ever!!] Regent and Oceania, we have seen Oceania taking away some perks and adding more costs every year.
We too are looking for alternative vacations.

We have been loyal cruisers on Regent and Oceania since inception.
My DH and I now feel that this new cancellation policy reflects an emerging Oceania attitude that wants to squeeze passengers for every cent they can. Bottom line profit takes precedence.:(

I appreciate your update. The CDC has an old one.
We're cruising next week, and Oceania hasn't notified anyone of the problem.
I's great to hear the latest news.
