  1. My mom is having a heart attack because the luggage tags say you can only bring 2 bags per person. Is this correct? I don’t remember a limit when I have cruises in the past. She has a lot of medical supplies and devices that she needs to bring (oxygen concentrator (small), cpap, scooter, wheelchair (for tender ports)....

What is the real story? TIA

  2. We have heard so many unsettling things about Jamaica and specifically MoBay. Wondering how to best get people from the port to Margaritaville and back. We’ve got several that are unable to walk distances. Are taxis safe? I’m guessing the port has some kind of secures area where vetted vehicles are allowed to pull through? Hate to just stay on the ship. Was planning on doing that but somebody said Carnaval regularly closes the pools when in port… can anyone confirm or deny? Why do ships keep docking in these areas if they are so crime-ridden?

  3. We are arriving in Grand Cayman on Carnival Freedom in June. 7am-4pm.

Looking for an operator that can accommodate both divers and snorkelers for our small group of 6-8.

One is mobility challenged and can do steps/stand/walk short distances only.

A long swim out with fins would also be problematic.

Best for this person is to probably go down the ladder of a boat into the water, while already at the dive/snorkel site.

At least one of the divers will be newly certified on his first real dive.

All are age 15 and up.

Need to figure out transport that is workable without a lot of walking to the tour operator and then a way to get back on the ship without a lot of walking.

Bringing a fold up wheelchair is a possibility but we will already have a mobility scooter onboard so thinking of saving space (Carnival won't allow use of the scooter on the tender).

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

Definately want a site or sites that would appeal to both snorkelers and divers so that no one feels they are missing out.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi! We are arriving on a Carnival cruise in June. I will be traveling with a mobility scooter. Ican stand and walk but not far or long.

First question: can the tender accommodate my portable scooter? I can step down into the tender.

Second question: I would like to find a nice beachvwith a nice place to snorkel. (need bathroom facilities with food not too far away. On site food is a plus) I have a husband and 15 year old son with me. If the place was super friendly for the mobility challenged I would bring my 80yo mom alomg. Also on a scooter, but not sure she can get into the tender. An anywhere we go would most likely need to be by taxi, which would also need to accommodate the scooter. It does break down into smaller sections. Maybe a van? Don't mind paying for something above average if it wasn't crazy expensive.

    Would love recommendations. Thanks!

  5. Hi -

We just booked 17 of us on a June cruise to Cozumel, Montego Bay and Grand Cayman.

Also, just found one in our party is pregnant.

CDC is still advising NO TRAVEL to Mexico or surrounding areas due to Zika.

Now we are all wondering if we need to cancel out of concern for the safety of her and her baby?

The cruise was a gift and everyone was so excited.

I would welcome any recent knowledge or feedback.

She will be 5 months pregnant at the time of sailing.

I know the decision is ultimately ours, but just wondering how much this is still a "thing" to those living there?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Anyone who books with anyone other than Bodden Tours is CRAZY!!!!

We just returned from the Voyager Cruise and were in Roatan last Wednesday.

I agree it was a little hectic getting off the ship and across the street to meet Victor but he met us promptly and we lucked out having him personally as our guide for 13 of us.

We went to the Jungle Canopy Zipline (Reviewed under 'Zipline Question' on this forum....to Victor's House....to Lunch @ Mavis and Dixies in West Bay where Dixie waited on us herself (VERY Slow but good food and great atmosphere!) and then Victor arranged for some of us to Snorkel (Got us out on a boat) and some to Dive in the same area as well as some to horseback ride. (West Bay Beach)

The riders said their ride was the best commercial ride ever....they got to ride in town, woods and beach as well as getting to trot or run the whole time....they had a BLAST!

The dive shop did not rent good gear to my brothers but Victor was not aware they were sub-par equipment wise (He is now)....just take your own equipment if you go..... they also didn't have enough equipment for the kids so, again, take their own.

Victor was such a trooper with our jam packed schedule....

One of the mom's forgot her swimsuit on the ship so Victor went out on the boat with us....in his clothes....and got soaked in the dive boat on the way to the reef.....to watch her 7 and 9 year old kids snorkel.

    Now THAT's a guide!!!! :)

We got to see a 1 hour old baby deer at his house....got to hold two monkeys...the little black one is SUCH a snuggler! One of us did get "Swiped" by the anteater.....Really cute...but don't get too close!

Also the "Mean" monkey in the cage is a hoot! He really likes to play and is very agile! Man that tail is strong!

This was my favorite port EVER and Victor my favorite guide!

I would say though in the interest of time - only do Jungle / Victor's House / Food or Food / Victor's House / Snorkel - Dive or Ride. To do it all about killed all of us!

Oh, also....if you're on the Voyager....It leaves port @ 5:30 but for some reason the local port authority tells Victor 5pm. It made him nervous to get us back at 5pm but we showed him our schedule and promised them that if Royal Caribbean left us we wouldn't come home with him! (Not sure he believed us!!!)

As it turned out we left two in port when we pulled away at 6 pm....not sure I blame them.

Poor island for sure but wow....it is really mostly unspoiled. It won't be that way for long I feel....
