  1. Apologies for posting such an unusual Topic.

Over the past few years I have developed a vision problem which makes reading hard work.  However if I invert text to white on black (regardless of font size) I am back to 20/20 and life becomes bearable again.
However, in saying that, cruising is becoming a problem.  Fortunately HAL has an app which enables me to read everything (incl.Menus) on my iPad and Princess also has their app which helps albeit no menu availability. Does their new Medallion have Menu accessibility on them?
I have just disembarked from a Cunard cruise and as they do not have an app I had great difficulty reading the Daily Programs and missed out on a lot of things.

Is anyone aware of any other Lines that has an app which would help solve my vision problem?
    With thanks, Garry

  2. Sorry 'bout another question and as I depart in a couple of days I haven't the time to search the Forum for an answer.

For the first time in 50+ years of cruising I was astounded when reading my QE documentation that there is a max. limit of 20 Kg per bag. Do they enforce this? Has anyone been embarrassed by been questioned. I have traveled Cunard a number of times and have never come across this.  What's up?

    Thanks - Garry, NZ

  3. As I am the guy who instigated this Thread I would like to thank you all for the most interesting "answers".  I will be embarking QE and will head for the Golden Lion which is my favourlite lunch venue.

What's the alternative dining like these days?  I was never very impresed with it but it was pleasant.

Keep those messages coming - Garry, Auckland, New Zealand

  4. Hello form New Zealand.

Having cruised with Cunard priviously I should know this but I must be having "a Senior Moment"<g> Is Britannia, on QE, open for lunch when the ship IS IN PORT?

    Thanks, Garry

  5. Thanks for the interesting replies.  As it will be a Christmas Cruise I definitely do not want to sit alone.  Therefore should there a problem if I go Anytime Dining which I would normally have anyway?  Garry

  6. I am a solo traveller and enjoy meeting people. I have booked a couple of more cruises and thought, for a change, I would go Club Class.  Now I think I have made a mistake in that I will not be able to ask to share a table.  Is that correct?  If so, does anyone know, if one can change the booked grade?  I have only paid deposits.  Thanks.

  7. Later this year I am embarking on a couple of cruises and whilst organising the numbers for the M%G I have had enquiries aout forming  some Trivia tables.  I have done this before and have a couple of questions for past Majestic Princess travellers.  Are the Groups still a max. of 6. what times are they normally on. and what is the usual location?

    Thanks, Garry

  8. As I cannot find a Majestic Forum I am posting this question here.

I am doing two cruises on this ship and am organising both SailAways.  If anyone has sailed on her before where are the best locations to hole this event?  Preferable outside near aft - if possible.  Thanks Garry, NZ

  9. Altho' I have been on a number of ships I have never sailed with RCI. I am booked on Ovation of the Seas later this year and am having trouble coming to grips with the Dining Options (not the Specialty Restaurants w/Cover Charge). As I am traveling solo is there provision for one to make or join a table for meals? I am used to either sitting at an allocated table for all meals or Anytime Dining when I arrive whenever and make or join a table.

    Thanks

  10. When I travelled on Pacific Pearl on her "maiden" cruise the dining arrangements were atrocious! As there was only one Dining Room (there was Salt and the Buffet) with the two Sittings, one had to either book a table, each afternoon, for the evening meal, or "speak" with the Maitre d'Hotel who assured you that the same table would be available each evening. NOT a pleasant arrangement.

As I am contemplating another cruise on her (only because of the ports of call) has anything from the above changed?
