Does Seaside has a free ice cream place?. On Meraviglia just outside the Marketplace buffet (near the pool) there was a place that having free soft ice cream it was one of the best we ever had. We will be on Seaside in a few week just want to know.
Thanks
ChattTenn: Were you able to find any free soft serve? 🙂 -

Our 9 year old enjoys trying to locate the ship's coin on new-to-her ships. Does anyone know where the coin is located on the Emerald?

Hi! Happy to learn the videos and info are helpful! We have more Sunshine specific videos coming in the next few weeks. (General and Kid specific Sunshine tips)
Ellie was on both of our December cruises. Much like you - we saw photos of her in the Pixels gallery on our first cruise. So - on the second cruise we specifically asked the Pixels staff and they told us the day and time. I recall it being in the evening towards the second half of the 8 day cruise. The photo didn't turn out well so I don't have the exact date. When we took the photo she was on deck 4 near the atrium staircase forward.

Hi Everyone -
We love to research before any of our vacations but had difficulty finding up-to date Sunshine Fun Times, Menus and Kids Camp Schedules prior to our back-to-back December cruises.
So...we decided to collect what we could from the ship and upload it to our personal website for future cruisers. We've also have created a couple of videos. (Tips/Food etc.) Hope to make more as time permits. http://thejellybeans.net/
Happy Cruising!

Are people following the elegant night policy on your cruise? I've been on a few (non-NCL) cruises where they allowed people into the dining room wearing shorts on "formal night".

We'll also be on the December 13th Gem sailing. :)
Nikki908 posted the dailies from October 2015 cruise in a previous thread. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2272644&highlight=gem
Posts #16 and #18 of the thread.
Cheers!

Thank you so much for the info and photo! :) I was concerned there would be nowhere for the kids in our group to swim other than the SpongeBob wading pool in the splash area.
All the best,
Valerie

Just read a recent Cruise Credit user review indicating the Breakaway does not allow kids in the main pool. Can anyone verify this? I don't recall that being the case on our last cruise.
Many Thanks!

Without regard for being a Mariner's Holiday Cruise
in Holland America Line
Posted
Sometimes you have to ask....
Over the Christmas holiday, my family of three sailed on Nieuw Statendam as two star mariners. Initially, we found our cabin devoid of the anticipated drink vouchers and the HAL branded bags we've received on HAL previous cruises. A few days into the voyage, we approached guest services, who kindly provided us with a three drink voucher tickets that had no expiry date. Later that day, we were pleasantly surprised to find multiple drink vouchers (bearing an expiration date) and three Holland America cloth bags delivered to our stateroom. As the cruise progressed, we received the HAL Tiles along with a printed sticker of our voyage itinerary. The concept of a "sticker" was a novelty to us as on prior HAL voyages we had received itineraries printed on premium paper. We realized a book was involved only after seeing blue passport colored books in the "mailboxes" of some of the adjoining staterooms. We requested the sticker book be delivered and it was slid under our door the morning of disembarkation.
