Far from  it. There are several threads here discussing where the cruise ships are docking or anchoring.

A little Google searching got me a number of about 325 active cruise ships in the world.

yes but are there stranded passengers on  board?  i didn't ask my question correctly

  2. We were there 6/20/17. There are lounge chairs set up in rows about 4-5 deep starting at the waters edge. The back set of chairs had pretty good shade until about 11am. There are chairs that have a shade you can purchase for $29 u can put on your s&s card once you are out there.

  3. Quick review of Trip...

Triumph is a nice ship, and our room steward (shurman) was probably the best we have had with carnival since the 1990's. we never saw or heard from our R S on our last 2 cruises with carnival. We had room 1060 on deck 10. This was a great room for the location. It was central to everything forward and aft. It was also only steps from the pool and slide. It is an outside balcony room.

It is a bit high, so if likely to get sick, I always suggest a room on the lowest deck possible.

Here were a few disappointments....1st we are very easy to please and not picky, so to be a complaint in my book it has to change the outcome of an event. #1) we had early dinner in London room. Our first night, the drink waiter never came, and our head waiter noticed and took drink order. We asked 3 times for our drinks and finally at dessert, he admitted that they were not coming. They said they take them off of our bill. We ended up paying for them because we didn't notice until after we got of the ship that they were still there. Still on night one, waiter didn't pour our water or every replenish our water. That was ok, but I thought that was very low service for carnival. We had to ask for our order three times because they brought wrong or incomplete dishes. Dessert was as ordered.

We asked to be moved nite 2 for dinner and they did so without hesitation. Great service this night. It was an older gentleman, and you could tell he cared. It felt like the service you got back in the 1990's. I Made was the waiter's name, and he did a great job! Night three we asked not be at our original table again. They obliged but it was with a new waiter. Not great but ok serVice. Received bread after our meals were served. This was Cozumel night, so dining room was not busy. This dinner took forever.

Last night we had our 4th table and waiter. Ok service. Got our orders wrong, but we wanted to catch a show, so we didn't say anything.

Overall, this was a disappointing dining room experience because our others on carnival were always spectacular. I think carnival must be cutting staff way back, as they seemed hurried, no small talk, card tricks, helping kids with meal etc. I hope carnival reads the dining room review. This is/was not the carnival experience of the 90's, 00's or just a few years ago.

#2) sewer smell in certain parts of the ship and in our bathroom was pretty bad at times.

Best parts...check in was very fast. The only times our feet stopped were at passport check and to get sail and sign card. Process took less than 10 minutes until we boarded. We got there at 2pm. Guys burger is awesome. Melting cake still da bomb. Less chair hogs.

Cozumel excursion was sunset beach snuba experience. I am certified scuba, but part of my family is not. We did this a s a family and had a great time. I have b/g set of twins that are 10. They were able to do this easily. They are good swimmers though. We went over to paradise beach after. This beach is good, if like a nice pool and pool atmosphere. Beach was nice sand and chairs and good service. The beach for swimming is not good. It's very cloudy water and very rocky bottom. It's almost impossible to enter the water as the rocks on the bottom are pretty slippery. I heard at leas 4 people complaining that they stubbed toe/hurt foot. Children under 10-12 would not like the water here because of the cloudiness and lack of wading ability. I thought mr sanchos was a little better for wading in the water but not as good for pool. $15 cab ride from ship for 4 people.

    Hope this helps

  4. I lived on this island for three years, but that was 15 years ago. Weather for hiking is great. Not bad at all. My most memorable and best experience while living there was hiking the volcano. We had a 7 year old girl with us and had very little trouble doing the hike. The guides know you are there to enjoy yourself. They realize that you are on vacation and not there to climb Everest. So, they go slow, help and stop for lots of breaks to enjoy the sites.

Diving was ok, and I'd likely dive another port. Catamaran to Nevis is great. Sunshine's should be experienced at least once in your life. Killer bees are great, but be careful, they sneak up on you!

    Hope this helps, have fun!

  5. We were on the freedom 2 weeks ago with our 9 y.o. Twins. We went to the aft area and got into the hot tubs. 10 minutes later my daughter showed me the sign. So we got out. I didn't know it was adult only.

That cruise was really cold and almost impossible to be outside on the lido deck without a sweet shirt. So I only saw 2-4 kids in the lido pool and no adults in the lido pool on our entire cruise. We never revisted the aft area after that except for pizza. The whole trip, I never saw 1 person in that aft pool. I know my kids wanted to swim but could not get in the lido pool. I wish they cold have made an exception for the aft pool to be for everyone since it was so cold outside.

  6. This was our 7 the carnival cruise. All on fantasy class before this one. First cruise was celebration in 1996. 1 trip on Allure 1 year ago.

    The good stuff...

Entire staff was very nice. Food was good. Desserts were a little on the bland side, so stick to the melting cake. The George Lopez comedy experience was great. Hub app worked great.

Things that I thought could be better...

Dining room service was very slow. Our waiter Saint was great but his help would disappear for long periods. So, kids order of fries (for example) was asked for 3 times and came out after everyone was finished eating. Did they do away with maitre'd? We also never saw our room steward although we rarely do on cruise. However, we never saw him/her in hall either. Never saw cruise director. We didn't do any shows in theatre, that may have helped. Some Bars under staffed.

I guess they stopped asking for feed back cards at end of cruise. Also, they never explained debarcation. If this was my first cruise, I would not have put my luggage outside the room on the last night. Our room steward just put two luggage tags and customs form on our bed. $60 internet package was waste. A simple website like CC would take 4-6 minutes to down load. The 60 dollar package is advertised to be used for net flicks etc. my opinion is to buy the $30 package.

Not the cruises fault but for anyone traveling in winter... It was cold on decks until we reached Cozumel. It was hard to enjoy outside activities due to cold wind. Bring warm cloths along with swim suit. You will use both.

  7. Not sure if turbo charger is the problem with propulsion. Not questioning turbo charger but that sounds like a generator issue. The azipod are electric motors. There are no turbo chargers on an electric motor. There are 6 engines on the boat. Seems like they could power the other five even if not as big as the one with the turbo problem to get the ship moving. Seems like there is more to the story.

  8. Just off myself. We had an excellent cruise except for stop at st Thomas. Our and most other excursions were canceled. We had 3 hours of day light when we got off. Per ship recommendation we went to Meagan's bay. That was not a good choice. 6 of us went and spent $120 to get there and back and $16 to enter. Had to sit on towel as there were no chairs/umbrellas as the ship told us. I think the ship should have tried to set up several taxi to a few places as short excursions. They had at least 24 hours to set something up. They pretty much said your excursion was cancelled without much help unless you had a specific question about the island.

All the food on ship was very good. Never had an issue finding chairs on deck. Only line for mtd was on first night. We never made reservations and never waited more than 15 minutes to get a seat for 6 people.

My gavorite part was relaxing by pool. Check the cruise compass for age specific times for flow rider. Lines can be shorter. I went 1st thing in morning and lines were 10-15 minutes for about 2-3 minutes of riding.

  9. On allure right now and there is a lady who has been carrying around a Pomeranian the whole cruise. She was squeezing through the crowded mdr last night with dog. She isn't blind or this is one damn good seeing eye dog! :)
