  1. Out of the 22 cruises I have been on only one is a  transatlantic. In November of 2017 I took my 22 yo son on the Celebrity Silhouette. It was the trip of a life time! We booked the trip 10 days before it set sail from Rome. The folks on the Celebrity customer service were great at making this trip pain free.  The trip included stops at Florence, Barcelona, Majorca, Canary Islands and stop in France that was cancelled  because of the weather. My son was the youngest  passenger. This didn't affect him till we actually had 7 days at sea. Our cabin was a balcony mid ship on the 8th floor. We had the late dinner seating because of how late we booked the cruise. The port days were awesome. The sites were not that busy because it was near the end of the tourist season. On sea days they had guest speakers that I found very interesting and I also took origami classes. There was also games and tournaments during the sea days. I joined my first slots tournament. The pool was busy but the water was too cold for a Floridian.

Just realize the days are easy its the 7 sea days in a row that are a little trying if you don't decide to be adventurous. I tried a new thing every day and went to every free activity I could. On my down time I read a book and did my Sudoku. I'm not a fan of NCL and HAL is a little too quiet for me. Have you sailed with either of them?  I would gauge your experiences with the 2 cruise lines with your activity level. We usually cruise RCL so we are used to tons of things to do but I knew going into this cruise it was not as high energy as we were used to so I came prepared.

  2. My hubbie, myself and our 19year old son just participated in the cooking class at Playa Mia. It was probably the best family excursion we've had at Cozumel. For $65 pp we had transportation to & from pier, delish cooking class, all you can drink and use of the resort. The class was great and the drinks were flowing. Our son had a great time too. He can't wait to make the 3 course meal for his girlfriend. They enjoyed the water activities after the class & lunch I sat at the beach and enjoyed a nap. We left when we wanted. Our other son booked all you can eat & drink at Playa Mia thru RCL payed more and had less time at resort. Our food was fresh and tasty. The other food was buffet style food.

  3. We just got off the Liberty of the Seas. Our family booked Playa Mia Cooking class thru http://www.cozumel-tours.com It was $65 a person and included round trip transportation, all you can drink, use of the resort and the class with a 3 course meal. We got there before the people from the ship and were able to stay longer then the people from the ship. we had a great time and really enjoyed the class. Even though we cooked the food it was delish!

  4. Josefina's Cooking Class OR Bar Hop Bus Tour? We've only ever gone to Nachi Cocum in Cozumel because that's what the others in our party end up choosing...this time, it's just hubby and myself and we want to do something different than a beach all inclusive....WHICH TO CHOOSE? We both love the water, love trying different drinks, Love Love Love Margaritas, and love cooking......help!! We're on Carnival Triumph and in port Saturday, May 2 9am - 4pm. Thanks for any advice!!

Myself, Hubbie and 19 yr old son did this activity. We have been to Cozumel about 7 times and wanted to try something new. We all loved it even our son! Our son can make a well done grilled cheese but loved this class. Chef Luis was very friendly and catered to my food allergy and my sons allergy to anything that looked like a veggie. The package included round trip transportation to Playa Mia, unlimited drinks(Miami Vice my fav) and use of the park. We made a three course meal and it was 10 times better than the food in the buffet. If you have younger kids there is no use of knives, everything is already cut up. We learned how to make tortillas too! After class we ate our meal over looking the beautiful ocean with Chef Luis. We still had a few hours to enjoy the rest of the resort. The bathrooms & changing rooms are very clean. We look forward to taking this class again.

  5. In June my family and I were on the Liberty of the Seas and we saw Gloria Estefan on the ship with her husband and daughter. She is the nicest lady. I've been a fan since the 80's. My husband asked her bodygaurd if he could take a picture of me with her. She said yes but I was to embarassed and Gloria Estefan sent her family member down the hall after me. We actually taked for a few minutes before everyone started mobbing her. We also were told that Mike Row from "Dirty Jobs" was filming on the ship.
