Thank you all for the explanations. It all seems more clear now.

Also, when you are booking restaurants, book the cover charge restaurants first as the system will notice you have the dining package and not charge you for it. If you book a la carte restaurants first and then book cover charge above the credits you have, the system will charge you now for the cover charge.
Liljo,
so the a la carte restaurants don’t recognize that you have dining credits. Suppose I wanted to book Cagney’s for each meal? The system doesn’t accept my credits?

We are sailing on the Breakaway in September and have 3 specialty meals coming to us. We know we should reserve ahead of time, but we have some question regarding the terms a la carte and cover charge in relation to these specialty dinners. If we reserve a dinner in one of these restaurants do we pay extra for anything on the menu or is everything we want included in the dining package?
Is there a difference between the two designations?
This is our first time sailing on NCL.
Thanks.

Have a cruise with friends March 26th, told no guarantee the four of us would get same flights. OK, got that. What is the time line for getting airline info into your account? We have so many cruises with NCL, but this time with another couple and they choose to use NCL flights, so we went along.
We are a group flying to Rome in September. We were told that we would have to pay $100 pp, if we wanted to be on the same flight. Has anyone had this experience. Never had this problem with Princess. This is our first NCL cruise. Seems a little much to push a few buttons.

I had a similar thing happen. I was on a medallion cruise in December and am trying to get ocean ready for a medallion cruise in a few months. So I had already scanned my passport etc. Nevertheless, even though my passport was in the system, I still had the exclamation point. So, I just tried every day once or twice to see if the exclamation point would go away if I selected my passport again. Yesterday it finally worked. Oddly, I still have an exclamation point next to cruise personalizer, even though my cruise personalizer is complete.
I tried again, but clicked on “add required documents for travel.” This led to a screen saying that they had other travel documents for us. This was before I entered the passports again. I clicked on what I had previously entered and voila, green circles.
Thank you all for your suggestions.

speedyjane; how about deleting app on your phone or tablet, and then download again and log in to see if anything changes. Have fun out there.
I thought of that, but would the app remember our pictures? I don't want to have to do THAT again! Technology is an adventure.

I believe the issue is with the app. I have run into the same thing; like I mentioned above. One day you have green on everything and the next I will have Red by picture or cruise personalizer. Don't worry too much over it. Yes it is nice to have it working perfectly; however, if you have been able to order your medallions; then you should be good
Thanks, that puts my mind at ease, but last night i saw that you could remove the passport info, so I might try it again.
Will report back.

I am in the process of getting “Ocean Ready.” I have scanned our passports and the code on the bottom of the ID page turned green, and I took pictures of the pages. However, I still have exclamations by our photos instead of green circles around them.
Any thoughts or suggestions?i was allowed to order my medallions, though.

Thanks for the restaurant suggestions!!
SpeedyJane any suggestions for small group or private tour guides?
Sorry, but I can't personally recommend any tours. Staying so close to so many sights and the tube we toured on our own. I did investigate London Walks, but never used them.

We just booked this hotel, thank you for the suggestion!
Great! I hope you like it as much as we did. You might try The Sanctuary House on Tothill St. for the pub atmosphere. We have gone to an Italian restaurant, Colosseo, on Victoria St. several times. Both of these restaurants are quick walks from St. Ermin’s.

Great! You will be happy with St. Ermin’s and the area. We used Blackberry cars from the airport at £39. This was the Fall of 2018. We are retirees and also did not want to bother with luggage especially after the flight.
-
We have stayed at St. Ermin’s Several times. It is well cared for with clean rooms and a helpful staff. It is an older building with rooms of different shapes and sizes. What attracted me the first time was that it is within walking distance to many sights from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square. For those going farther a field the St. James Park tube is around the corner. We have never eaten in the hotel, but there are plenty of restaurants for lunch and dinner in the area. We usually do breakfast at a Prete a manger; there are two locations that are very close.

Not included. The package only includes fountain sodas. There is no Sprite Zero available at any fountain. The only diet fountain soda available is Diet Coke and, of course, plain seltzer.
One other point of information. Juices are available for free in the DR and the buffet during breakfast hours. After that time there is a charge. I believe the package does not cover fresh squeezed OJ if offered on the ship.
We usually get the Soda and More package since my husband always seems to need a glass of soda. He does not drink water! He also likes to get some type of juice to have in the room over night; he gets this at any bar before we head up tot our room. The only time we do not purchase the package is on a port intensive cruise where we will be off the ship just about every day. It is well worth the money for us.

We leave on the Sapphire on Oct. 21. It is our first time booking a guarantee. I know we will have a room, but I keep looking because I am more curious and excited rather than anxious. We booked a BD balcony guarantee.

This is a bit off topic......We are using EZ Air to and from Europe this Fall. Going is a direct flight, and we will be in London 3 days before the cruise. My question concerns the return flight from Rome. We have a quick connection in Zurich. I was wondering if there is any help for us from Princess, if we miss the connection from Zurich to home - EWR? I hate doing connecting flights, but there was no alternative from Rome.

Thank you John for the info about the mini taxis. This sounds like the way to go, but are there enough taxis to accommodate cruisers when a large ship is in port?
-
We will be there in October. I was wondering what are the chances of getting one of these private taxi/minis when a ship is in port. I see that our ship, the Sapphire, is running several of these tours for $79 a person.
-
I see we are taking the same cruise. There is a very active Roll Call for the cruise. You might consider joining, since many of the participants have done transatlantic cruises and may be able to answer your questions.

Now that we are being charged for room service on NCL, will I be charged for an occasional delivery of ice to the cabin?
