  1. Can anyone tell me if the forward cabins on the empress have a lot of motion. We booked a guarantee balcony two months ago and were assigned a cabin two days ago-Empress deck-cabin 7208 right on the front. I am a little concerned about wind and motion. If anyone has ever stayed in any of the forward cabins, please let me know how you liked them. My mother and sister are also joining me. My mom is 81 and I don't want her to get sea sick. If we change cabins it will cost an additional $220 and I feel that is too much. I do know that I will not book a guarantee again. I could have picked the cabin at the same price I paid for a quarantee, but was told that a guarantee would possibly get us an upgrade N.....OT. I feel like we received what was left in a lower catagory because we did not pay near what the cabins are going for now. Anyway I would appreciate any info anyone can give me about these forward cabins. Thank you

We had the second cabin from the front on a smaller ship (Ecstasy) than the Conquest a few years ago, and it wasn't bad at all. I had also been concerned. We did hear a little noise, I think when they dropped anchor. I wasn't bad at all. But of course it would depend on how the water is (rough?).

  2. Can anyone tell me where to find the original post about Best and Worst Cabins. It had a list of Conquest Cabins to avoid and why. I had it saved in my Favorites, but now it won't bring up the post. Thanks.

I had seen one that covered a bunch of ships, but now I can't find it. I would have thought it would be in my favorites, but I looked at home and at work and it's not there.... I must have saved it before I had to have my home computer formated and lost my favorites. I just remembered I made a word doc. of my favorites at work before they messed with my machine. I'll check it this afternoon. You can also do a search on this site and see what it brings up...

  3. Hi from Texas! I'm Mona (from Corpus Christi) and my GF is Nenette (from McAllen). We've had a committed long-distance relationship for 6 years now. Who said long-distance relationships don't work? ;)

Our next cruise is on the Carnival Conquest, Oct. 25th. We signed up with Gayribbean. Is anyone else going??? I started a roll call under "Gay & Lesbian Cruisers" but so far I'm just talking to myself. We know it's mostly a guy thing but there were pictures of a few women on their web site. Or were those just really good Queens :o? No, there really were some women in the pictures....

Anyway, is anyone going on the Conquest for the Halloween cruise??

  4. We will be stopping at Mo Bay, Jamaica & its our first time there...

My fiance is really interested in the ruins, but we read that its a pretty long commute to get to them. We are doing snorkeling/sting ray city in Grand Cayman and now we don't know if we should stick with the ruins in Jam...We are also interested in the zip lining, but afraid of some of the jungle bugs (we saw a crazy Discovery channel show about some type of bug that can crawl into your skin and actually eats on your muscles... I know, I freak about everything..) and the building standards.

Has anyone done any of these OR did another excursion that was fun? I would love any ideas! :o

I agree with yst347. There aren't any ruins in Jamacia, that's Cozumel and you have a 45 min. ferry ride plus about 2hr. bus ride each way. Not worth it. You might want to check out the Cruise Critic destinations threads. Here's the link if your having trouble navigating this site... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=587

yst347 didn't mention Dunns Falls in Jamacia. We're going in Oct., last time we went we went to YS Falls, this time we're doing Dunns Falls with Mystic Mountain. We're doing it throu the ship since it's an 1 1/2hr. drive. If you decide to go to Rose Hall Great House be sure and read "The White Witch of Rose Hall" based on a true story about Annie Palmer who owned Rose Hall. I got mine off amazon.

Anyway, check out the link above. You can get all kinds of info on all the places you're stopping.

  5. Has anyone had this cabin or an inside cabin close to it? I've been on the Conquest once before but we had an ocean view on the Riviera Deck. How do the inside cabins compare to the outside cabins in size?

How is the shower? The outside cabin had a good size shower. Is the inside the same or do we have to shower in a coffin??? Well we are going on the Halloween cruise:eek: Also does the inside have a blowdryer, makeup mirror, and a fridge like the outside does?
