  1. Things I love:

The tomato soup at SeaDay Brunch, and those PopOver Rolls, I absolutely love those!

I am also a fan of the Hen Diaviolla (spelled wrong I am sure) at Sea Day Brunch

I really liked the Smores parfait, and hope they have it in the dining room this week, I am getting an extra for later!

Love Guy's Burgers, and Guys Pig and Anchor if it is there.

Did not like the Italian restaurant at all.

The rest of the food is good, not great, some things are real misses, but I always try something I wouldn't otherwise eat a few times.

  2. I did a 3-day May of 2016 from Miami so my son could spend the day at Atlantis, it was the most affordable option, because I had Southwest miles. I didn't like it at all, a whole different type of folks cruised on that cruise, such as ones that found it acceptable to wear their nightgown to the dining room (not buffet for breakfast). The kids were downright rude, obnoxious, unsupervised brats. I am by no means a cruise snob, and I travel with kids a lot of the time. But I was so done in that short time, I barely left the cabin the last day (which I had never done in the past), and came home and cancelled the next 3-day I had scheduled and lost the deposit.

  3. The website is slightly lacking info, but they do respond quickly.

Any chance I could find out how long the cab ride is and an approximate cost? I budget out everything to know what to charge, what I need cash for.

  4. We are going to do beach days in Grand Turk and Dominican Republic, so I don't really want another beach day in Aruba (or night we are there from 2 to 10p or something like that).

I just really can't find anything that stands out. Is there stuff to see just walking around? I see we can go bowling, though maybe that will require a taxi.

Normally I like to throw tours of something historical or where they make things ... I don't really find anything like that.

    Help?

  5. Someone told me to use caution in these ports buying vanilla because they make it with the same containers they use for oil (like for the car) and all kinds of scary stuff. Made me wonder what I was buying in Mexico too. But I think I will wait for Cozumel to get more.

I had what I would call a horrible cruise experience on a 3-day from Miami and even posted about it, however horrible it was, it beat being at work. Especially since my work involves other people's life and death situations.

Perhaps I have a totally different perspective, but there are worse things in life than a bad cruise. My bad cruise just made me want to hop on another ship and try again. :)

  7. OP thanks for the post. I don't normally do the surcharge restaurants but my 45th bday will be a sea day, and I might just do it.

As for the charge for movies, I'll pay $12.50 for a movie at sea. I just hope I can stay awake!! My son and I love movies and spend a fortune on land for them so I can't imagine us being on the ship and not taking advantage of a movie. Do they have movie snacks or popcorn, is there a charge for that?

  8. Do you just catch this outside the boat? Our boat is there overnight so time isn't overly important, plus I heard they don't open the slides until 10:30 or so.

Free to walk in.... Go to the casino or any of the many restaurants.

You can take a taxi, they will drop you at the front door.

The water taxi will drop you at the dock, maybe a five minute or less walk.

If you are adventurous you can walk there over the bridge (I never tried that)

The water taxi gives you a brief harbor tour, last time I did it it was within $1 of the price of the land taxi (van)

  9. I have read through some of the threads but I have a somewhat different question. I know it's going to cost $$$, but our whole point of the cruise is to go to Atlantis for the day. Compromise with a 19 year old for a late spring break.

It would appear our ship doesn't leave until the next morning. The cruise excursion only allows for 5 hours at Atlantis. If I get it through Atlantis directly, we would be able to stay a bit longer.

    So my questions are:

Does the taxi take you back to the ship pretty close? Meaning if it is dark we won't walk far?

What time would you suggest we leave Atlantis? I know the slides close at dusk, but my son wants to check out the casino too.

    Any other advise?

  10. Carnival has Ocean View Guarantee's on the Fantasy for $90 a person less than what I am currently booked. There are two of us.

I am torn, do I risk it? I see these posts all the time, but I guess my question is, has anyone done this on the Fantasy and been stuck with a bad cabin.

In all reality, IS there such a thing as a bad cabin when you are on a ship and not sitting at your desk at work? I literally just sleep in the cabin, and sleep through most things.

I do fear having an obstructed view, which would defeat the purpose of an ocean view.

    Please give me advice.
