  1. We cruised the Magic out of FLL this past July.  We arrived at the port at 9:45, made it through check in and up to the platinum lounge by 10.  We were stepping on the ship at 10:38....I made it a point to look at my watch since I was commenting to my husband that this was the easiest and quickest we've ever gotten on a ship.

  2. We were on the same cruise and had a great time. Third time on the Breeze/2nd Blogger's Cruise. I really don't see how the Blogger events impacted anything else going on throughout the ship. There were one or occasionally 2 events/day for an hour or 2 usually held early in the morning in the Limelight Lounge or later at night.

We found Matt to be great as a CD. I was always one who really didn't pay attention to who the CD was, but he was great about getting people involved and really showed interest in people he met.

My kids were in the older Carnival club so I can't comment on the younger clubs. They really had a lot of fun and still communicate with the friends they met. I have to say there were not many kids on board at all (which we enjoyed!)

The one negative we had was trying Anytime Dining for the first time. It was a train wreck. We have always enjoyed early seating in the past and will definitely go back to that. We were in the dining room on average over 2 hours a night. We tried to plan to go see certain shows but never got out in time. We began playing a game on how long it would be between our courses. The average was about 30 minutes. It was crazy. We still made the best of it and enjoyed actually having conversations with our teens since they were held captive LOL!

We had great experiences in the Red Frog Pub. The bartenders there were fun and engaging.

Overall it was another great family cruise for us.

  3. Just came back from our first Royal cruise on FOS after 8 on Carnival. Prior to booking any cruise we check pricing on all lines and make our decision. Finally got a deal on Royal and we were able to try it. The verdict? No big difference to us.

Saw just as many people in the MDR (including on formal night) wearing shorts and hats, and food was comparable (although it was nice to have a change after 8 cruises with the same menu).

We aren't much into the shows....too tired to watch....getting old I guess! We did enjoy the promenade area.

Overall, we'd cruise either line for the right price.

  4. OK - spill the beans - where did you get the 40% off coupon!!!!???? That's an excellent discount - was it for the cruise terminal parking, or for off site parking?

It's one of the park and cruise packages offered on the hotel website. It was for the cruise terminal parking. You get the coupon when you check in the hotel and then give it to the parking attendant upon entering the cruise terminal parking lot. We were happy with it!

  5. Just stayed there last weekend before our cruise. They are in the process of renovating and we got a "new" room on the top floor with a great view. We used the 40% off coupon and parked at the port so we could just debark and head right home. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

  6. We did it this past February and enjoyed it. There was plenty of equipment and the staff was fun and safe. There was your typical waiting for everyone in the group to go but it was no more than we experienced on other zip line excursions.

Once we were done they provided a drink and snack then we were taken back to the ship.

  7. We took the metrorail from the airport to the Hampton Inn Brickell. We flew in on American and it was a bit of a hike to where the airport connects to the metrorail. It looked like some of the terminals were MUCH closer. It wasn't anything horrible, just more than I was expecting. We had plenty of time and it was less than $10 for all 4 of us.

We also took the people mover from the hotel to Bayside.

We were planning on doing the same at the end of the month. I've been trying to research it but since you've done it can you tell me are there signs in the airport at baggage claim directing where to go for the metrorail? Did you get off at governor's station and switch to the people mover? Thanks for any tips/advice in advance!

  8. On the Glory, the door would NOT shut without force. We tried everything and then asked our cabin steward for help who told us we needed to give it a good pull (slam) to get it closed. Hated doing it and avoided using it when people would be sleeping, but that door would not latch otherwise.

This was our experience on our last cruise on the Legend. We did the same thing as far as not closing it all the way early in the morning. Every time I had to pull it shut and it slammed my kids would laugh at me because I am always the one lecturing them on embarkation day about no slamming the balcony door...lol!

  9. I ate there one morning on The Breeze. Now I am talking about the food bar set up by the Ocean Plaza on the Fifth deck. Where they play Trivia and other games. that is The Taste Bar on the Breeze, I am pretty sure.

I saw.....coffee. Tea. O.J. Iced Water. to drink. Coffee was hot and good.

To eat.......toast. Boiled eggs. ( good too. not old ones). jams. butter. Pastries. A big pot of grits. Or oatmeal. I think they may have had the breakfast ham sandwiches there. they had sliced ham. Sliced cheese. Lots of Cereals. Milk. They Raisin Bran. Cheerios. Frosted Flakes. Corn Flakes. Rice Krispies or reasonable facsimiles of them.

Husband had cereal. I had b.eggs, toast, jelly. coffee. It was very good.

No bacon but cold sliced ham.

there were perhaps four couples eating in that area. I loved it. Quiet. NO crowd. We ate in the MDR two mornings. that was my favorite. I only ate in the buffet...one time. The day we left..got off of the ship. ( My eyes tend to be bigger than my stomach. I get a Plate ful of stuff, and then it can not be wasted.....so..

and I am addicted to the little cinnamon rolls they do. I could eat a dozen.

Could not agree more....this was my favorite spot in the morning on the Breeze. It was like a hidden treasure since very few people were there.

  10. A few more "around the ship" photos....

Ropes course from the other side view. My bad, I mentioned above that the kids did the ropes today. I'm getting my days mixed up.... they did the course when we came back on the ship in Tortola. Oops! I should have kept a journal. LOL

LOL! My sons are in this pic on the ropes course...one is on the far left and the other is on the right (both have white tanks on)....we had a great cruise! Loved the Breeze!

  11. they had the Miami marathon when we were their a couple weeks back..and it was impossible to get a cab at the Intercontinental..

It s a hr walk if you plan to walk over the bridge..:o

We stayed the week before the marathon and there was a line of taxis waiting to take people over. Taxi was cheap too!
