  1. Yes glad someone caught that... thank you!!!

Will Carnival accept this one? Anyone have a clue if you get the results quick?

CVS has these nearby but not the rapid result.

Test type: Molecular lab test (PCR / NAAT)

Sorry - need to figure out how to edit and delete comments from my phone!

Vaccinated travelers need a test no more than two days prior to boarding. THat means if you sail on Sunday you will need to test on Friday at the earliest. Only unvaccinated has the three day window and it must be a PCR test.

Interesting after digging on carnival website, it says it gave an example of if you leave on a Saturday, you can test on a Wednesday.

  3. I appreciate your comments and honesty.

I have the same concern departing out of SJ. We have departed out of SJ on a few cruises, RCCL and Carnival. They tend to gear the cruise to the locals, like entertainment, etc. I have seen this leaving NOLA as this is where we live and so many local entertainers we are familiar with join us. Passengers can take that "locals" however they like...

Thank you for your opinion and thoughts on your experience. I will not criticize you for thoughts and your personal review that you shared.

  4. Just set meet up times with the kids...let them know where you'll be, and they can come and check in, and tell you what they'll be doing for the next amount of time, until you meet up again. I prefer physical check ins, to texting....texting tells you nothing about their condition, and you don't know if they are where they say they are.....

I think you'll find the kids will be on the pool or sports deck when they're not in the club, or eating.....shouldn't be too hard to keep up with them!

Thanks for the thoughts. This isn’t our first cruise as a group and the kids have never had an issue nor the parents. The capability of texting makes tracking down one or all, as they all tend to stay together, a lot easier. No need to walk the entire ship to tell me that they are leaving point a to go to point b.

  5. Hi!

We just booked Freedom out of San Juan in late July. We have 4 families with kids ranging 14-10. My question, while on board, is there a way to communicate via text without spending a fortune on multiple internet packages? Or do we have to bring walkie talkies?

Went on the Indy about 9 years ago, looking forward to the Freedom.

In the past on one Carnival boat, they had a text app that you could use at no charge...

  6. Im seeing UberXL (this is just an estimate, as time of day matters and its midnight here) from Riverside hotel to Port Everglades as being estimated 11-15.00. Regular Uber is 6-8.00. So either way, not bad. We did a taxi before Uber was around 3 years ago in FLL, was 20.00 bucks from the Renaissance to Port Everglades.

So in my opinion, if I was klstiger, I would take the Uber XL, instead of the taxi of 2 Uber X even if the two uber X's end up being around the same price as an Uber XL - just would prefer riding in the same vehicle with companions.

Thank you for the advice. Uberxl is exactly what we will do. I use uber all the time with work, around the country!

  7. Sorry for the repeat question... I know I asked this already but cant find it and cant scroll thru 50+ pages.

4 adults staying at the Riverside hotel a day before our cruise departure. How far is it to the RC dock in FLL? Uber is an easy option? Anything in particular to that we should not miss in this area of the hotel?

    Thank you!
