Never heard of that rule before.

I can recall in the 70's drinking cider with my parents. Didnt realise there was legiaslation covering this.

    Learn something every day.

Almost every state has slightly different laws regarding this, but most allow it.  A lot of people, including police, assume you can't drink alcohol under the age of 21, but that's not the case.  Most allow for underage drinking so long as it's for religious/education purposes, or on a private non-alcohol selling premises (home or private dwelling) with or without parental consent (depending on state), or in some states on an alcohol selling premises (bar) with parental consent.

  3. I think you have the wrong dates. Sept 9th cancelled, no word about the 16th yet. Doubtful it would already be cancelled as they finally made the announcement of the Sept 9th this morning. Link to post?

I'd like to know about this as well. I haven't seen anything about any cruiselines cancelling, or even updating, their cruises for next weekend yet.

  4. For the bottled beers, most of the selections do not have an asterisk but are $5.25. The All-Inclusive Basic package description states all draught beers are included, and only bottled/canned beers up to $5. Do you know if these non-asterisk $5.25 beers are in fact included in the basic All-Inclusive package?

  5. We went on this very tour last week. We enjoyed it. But, yes, you bus out from San Juan to El Yunque. We had a fabulous tour guide who pointed out a number of interesting sites on the way out and back. We had about 45 minutes to walk around the rainforest visitor area and trail. There was food, shopping, and coffee available at the visitor center. Back on the bus to go the observation tower. Those that wanted could climb to the top. Even without climbing, we got some awesome shots. And, then off to a gorgeous waterfall for another photo op. Then, back on the bus and back to the ship, with one stop for shopping and comfort break on the way. We were back in time for lunch in old San Juan and a bit of walking around before we went back on board. Yes, there is a lot of driving. But, one can only find so much to do in San Juan. So, I would rate the tour a 6/7 out of 10. The best part of the day for us was lunch back in Old San Juan at La Mallorca. Highly recommend! It also has a bakery. Not the typical tourist place to go. You will enjoy!

Great, thank you for the info!

  6. I was wondering if anyone could provide some information on MSC's El Yunque Rainforest Tour in San Juan? The description doesn't provide a whole lot of information other than stating it is not a hiking tour. Is this basically just a bus ride through the outskirt of the rainforest? Stop at the visitor center? Able to walk around and explore at all? Any information on who runs the tour itself/what company or third party?

I'm interested in exploring the rainforest, and this is the only tour available, but I don't think it's worth it if it is just a 3 hour bus ride and then back to the ship.

  7. We got in last year around 11 and walked right in. Only a couple of lines here and there for security, but I'd say 15-20 minutes and we were onboard the ship... didn't notice any of us regulars waiting for any elite members to board or anything like that.

  8. Thanks for posting this, Brent! It should answer ALL questions about on which ships and explains the Alcohol Package very well! :)

Still some confusion though. I just spoke with a Princess Rep and she confirmed it is still only available on 7 day or longer cruises, as the news bulletin states. However, the "Ruby March 6" thread implies otherwise, and it's a 4-day cruise.

  9. Has anyone on the Ruby recently seen this offered? I know it says 7 day cruises and longer, but apparently it was only supposed to be offered on 2 ships and that's obviously not the case.

Going on Ruby's 5 day sailing March 15th and I'd like to know if they're offering it beforehand. I'm planning on buying a few bottles of rum from the gift department for the room, but won't need to do that if the drink package is offered.
