  1. Urban Fare. It's about a 6 minute walk (600m) from your hotel on Alberni St. It's an upscale market, but it has an upstairs dining area. Good coffee and breakfast offerings. This place has the bonus of you being able to pick up any last-minute things for your cruise. I stayed at the Westin Bayshore my last cruise from Vancouver. Did my breakfast there, and then shopped for some take aboard munchies and a bouquet of flowers (gerberas and greens) to keep in my cabin (I have a blowup vase for travel).

Or, you can always do Tim Horton's - Canada's answer to Dunkin' Donuts. You can't swing a dead cat in Vancouver without hitting a Tim Horton's ;)

hi, I was reading this thread and noticed you stayed at the Westin Bayshore, my Hubby and I leave in 2 weeks for a cruise and are staying 2 nights at the Bayshore. Is there a drug store to buy last minute toiletries and a grocery to buy our allowed 2 bottles of wine.

    thanks in adavance!!

  2. Thank you so much for this thread and to all who have posted their pictures, my mom and I got the opportunity to upgrade to a Deluxe Veranda(aft room) on the Westerdam(12/09) and it was great to see some of the pictures of what our room will look like. I think we made a good choice on our room, this will be my first balcony room and am going to enjoy it to the fullest!! Thanks again

  3. I have been on several cruises and I play pretty regularly and have never won anything grand on a cruise, have done better in Vegas. Also have never seen anyone on a cruise win big other than at the slot tournament. Seems the Video poker machines are the way to go, I do hear people winning big on those. I should try that on my next cruise in December. IMOP, Casino's on a ship are strictly for entertainment, if you do win or come out ahead then that is a bonus!! Have a set amount when you get on board and have fun!

  4. Hello CC members,

My family and I were in Roatan a few weeks ago for Spring break and we used Bodden tours. Our over all impression of Roatan was already tainted due to it raining the majority of the day. Our driver was Ronnie and he was very quiet, he answered any questions that we asked but he offered no information about Roatan or the people himself. We wanted to zipline but when we got to the place it was still raining and was very muddy and he could not get us to the starting point. As we were driving to the zipline we saw the first of two ship wrecks, the driver only stopped at the second one when we commented upon seeing the first one. Again we had to pry it out of him the story behind these two sukken ships. We left the zipline and he took us to some hotel to look at the view and take pics, it was nice and we took some pictures and left. At this point it looked like it was going to clear so Ronnie drove us to South Shore zipline and there was a line but we were willing to wait, this was my pick of excursions for the trip, as we were in line to pay van loads of people came back with mud from head to toe and it started to rain again so my Dh and one son and I opted out, my oldest was going no matter what(and did have a great time). I can't believe we even did this, but the driver suggested my son, DH and I go to the monkeys while my 15 yr old went ziplining by himself, looking back it was really stupid, my only comfort was that he was with and buddy he met on the ship and his parents. Still not a very smart thing to do. We went to the monkeys again it was ok, but with the rain it was disappointing, but you should go at least once. My son had fun letting Chico? climb all over him. We returned to pick up my other son and waited for another 45 minutes before he returned. At this point we had no time for lunch which we had planned on or shopping, Ronnie took us back to the boat and that was our visit to Roatan. I am sure there are many other drivers that are wonderful ours just was not one of them, also I would like to visit Roatan again and experience it in better weather, but not sure if it is somewhere I would go again and again. Very poverty stricken and sad to see some of the living conditions. Over all Bodden tours was ok, I think the driver could have provided a more enjoyable day for the four of us.

  6. Hi , my family and I are booked with Victor in 3 weeks and wanted to know if you tipped the driver extra at the end along with the regular pp fee. I also understand that you pay at the end of the tour, this means you carry around all that cash for the day, any ideas or suggestions.

    thank you for any help.

  7. I just booked my family of 4 with Victor Bodden tours, the cost is not worth haggling with a taxi driver when you get off the ship and we are traveling with two kids and my DH and I feel more comfortable knowing where to go as soon as we get to Roatan.

? I filled out the online request form, does Bodden tours put together your tour based on what you filled in to do, we want to zipline, have lunch and see the monkey's and maybe the inquana farm if there is time. just wondering how that works, thanks for any info.
