  1. My sister in law and her husband was on this cruise, planned by my husband and me. Her first cruise to dip their toes in to see if they liked cruising. She saw the boat full of people, a child on the boat waving a shirt frantically to get attention of the ship. She saw a baby get handed up to a crew member and was moved to tears by the sight. She came away from the experience feeling extremely lucky for her family and the life that she is able to lead here at home. I clicked on thread expecting kudos to carnival, life changing, wanting a possible update on the rescued people. Never did I think to find that carnival should owe pax something. Wow. I'm beyond stunned. I'm sorry the cruise was not as you expected, but .......come on. Read the contract, have regard for life, be grateful you are blessed with time and money to vacation.

    My advise.....count your blessings.

  2. We have booked cabin #9474 for the August 24, 2014 cruise.........never had an aft balcony cabin.

Does anyone have information about this cabin or a similar Breeze aft cabin?

Appreciate it -- we have had a Jr Suite and several side balconies on Carnival and on NCL.

    THANKS!

    Stephanie

We will tell you when we return from our June 29 sailing. That is our exact cabin number :)

  3. Thanks, we won't sweat it, but will take a towel out on the chairs when we wear white.....just in case. We've wanted an aft balcony for awhile, but have always talked ourselves out of it. Balconies are my favorite part of the ship.....I'm hoping I've got a new favorite.

  4. We booked an aft on the breeze. What can we expect? Will it be hot, how sooty, privacy issues??? Dive gear left to dry out there ok? We normally book a balcony to dry our gear between ports, but the size of the afts look amazing. Would love to be able to sit down and not have to move wet gear.

  5. We've done Disney, royal and carnival.....to find a ship that meets the desires of every one in our family, carnival wins hands down. Disney is very loud. Children everywhere. Shrieks. All. The. Time. Love the classic designs of the Disney ships, and it's fun to look for hidden mickeys......but I don't want to cruise with them with out my own little shrieker :) We found the service to be lacking on RCCL, the food to be meh. I love the design of RCCL ships and the art everywhere. Carnival comes up third for us here. The review between the two lines are similar to what we have found. I would also say there is a bit of arrogance about RCCL, but i didn't see it on board. It's the cruisers that are in the ports, here on cruise critic, conversation around town at home. People somehow think that carnival is inferior. Carnival owns Cunard, princess, Hal. They have been around a long time. Clearly they are doing something right. I guess if you pay more for a cruise, you want to feel its better....to each their own. I like the serenity areas, my son the sports deck, my husband the casino. So for us, carnival fits the bill. It's sad that the OP can't post her opinion on what her experiences were for her family. Remember, each cruise, is different, with a different mix of passengers.....maybe she experienced arrogance. She says over and over she had fun. Her money, her experience. We are lucky enough to hear a different pov that might help us make a choice in our vacation.

  6. @ shanley. Sometimes you have to ask for Splenda. They hide it a bit.

To another who said it was proper tea. No. Not really. A good excuse however to nibble on something. Better than what we had on royal but not at all what I was used to in Europe. More like a nod to it. Just a little clarification so we don't see the tea wars here;)

  7. stranded divers off the coast of mexico with boat problems.....the story that was told by the staff was that they were directly in the way of the ship and sent off flares to avoid being hit by our ship.

  8. The Navigator LA was knowlegable and friendly. We caught her on an off time when she was expecting a couple. Said we wanted to do a next cruise booking, gave us the sheet and wanted to sign DH and me up for $200. I told her that we only wanted to do one name and have our TA taken off. She looked at me and smiled and asked where I got my info from. DH answered Cruise Critic! She was on there constantly! She said I had great information, so clearly the time was well spent:D The paper work arrived in the cabin that day, and it was the last day on board..sea day. So thanks all of you:)

  9. LOL -- what a great attitude! With that kind of mindset you are going to enjoy anything that happens to you.

Just a hint for the future, and for lurkers ... having spent many years in the diamond business, and lots of time on my knees looking for itty bitty diamonds that I managed to drop -- the secret is to get the brightest flashlight you can find and shine it around. Those little devils are so sparkly that you will amost always pick up a flash of reflection from them!

and for the lost engagement rings??? Where do they hide?
