We are sailing on the Anthem soon and wanted to know what the process is for dropping off our luggage, we are driving to Cape Liberty.

It will be my husband and I. Would we drop off the luggage first at the Star Class area and then park or should one of us stay with the luggage while the other parks the car?

I believe our Genie will meet us when inside the terminal and checked in. Any thoughts or experiences is appreciated. TIA

Do not drop your luggage off to the regular porters, There is a purple star class banner closer to the entrance, stop and drop your luggage and any additional passengers, then go and park.

I don't believe the current language was available when we booked in July. You should also check the date. It says through 3/31(or at least it did the last time I checked) . We sail after that date. We actually sail in less than two weeks. It would be nice if there was information available when I look up my reservation about my actual booking. A simple message that says "We are sorry but at this time it appears that Splash Academy will not be available for your trip." would have gone a long way for many of us. I have these notifications for other things (port changes, gratuity increase, etc.). Why silence on Splash Academy?

I think my complaint (and many other parents) isn't that it is actually closed but that we were told it would be open. I have yet to hear anything official from NCL about a cruise I leave on in less than 2 weeks. We've been notified of other things but there is total silence on this topic. My cruise planner told me prior to my final payment that it would be open by our cruise. If I can' t trust her (an NCL employee) who can we trust for accurate information? Many of us booked (and/ or made final payments) based on incorrect information.

At what point should we have received an official notice from NCL? This is a major amenity for families and hiding vague information on the website isn't really how any of us deserve to be treated. It's too late for many of us to cancel or reschedule. Other cruise lines have their clubs open so it is very difficult to understand why this one has chosen not to.

If you booked your cruise last July, not only did you know at that time that Splash Academy was closed, but NCL was only sailing at 100% vaccinated. So at the time you booked kids 5-11 couldn't even sail. You choose to take a gamble that kids would even be allowed onboard.

As a parent, traveling in 2 weeks, with my vaccinated child I wish NCL was still %100 vaccinated, with the ONLY EXCEPTION being the 0-4 littles.

I wasn’t aware I was making a booking change, just a cabin change, if you book a hotel room you can upgrade, a cruise ship is a floating hotel. I wasn’t told it was a booking change or about losing the obc. So it actually cost me more than the 70€ that was quoted. If I had been told I would have waited for the upgrade offer after payment.

You didn't lose your on board credit because you made the change before final payment, when your room was upgraded your cct had to use the current promotions that NCL was offering. They should have let you know that at the time.

  4. I submitted my 1st request for shareholder benefits to NCL and my account was updated with the $100 onboard credit the next day. My question is to those that have used this benefit before. On my account it shows a $50 credit each for me and my son. As the only shareholder I thought the OBC would only go to myself.

How has it actually been paid out in the past? TIA

  5. Thanks for all the replies....... You Guys Rock!!!!!!

The one HC suite must have already been booked for my sailing, because it didn't come up as available.

I'm renting a scooter, but the width is only 22" wide.

I will notify the Access Department, I need to notify them of my needs and limitations as well as my littles allergies.

Lastly I don't need a HC bathroom as long as I can order a bath seat, which the scooter company also supplies.

    Again Thank You All

  6. I’m traveling on Royal Caribbean for the first time in 20 yo, I’ve only been on NCL in recent years. I just booked on the Oasis of the Seas in an Owner Suite, but I require a scooter for mobility and normally get a HA suite.

Looking online the handicap cabins on RCCL ships only go up to the junior suites and I want a full suite. From the videos I’ve found online the door into the OS enters into the center of the room, so the scooter should fit.

Has anyone traveled in such a room with a scooter? Would you recommend it?

If you’ve traveled in any of the other full suites with a scooter, which one would you recommend? TIA

  7. I'm thinking of taking a cruise from NY to the Caribbean in January 2014. I've never cruised in January and I just want an idea of what type of weather there will be on the islands and if the water is warm enough to go swimming/snorkeling. Yes I do plan things last minute:D.
