Yeah EZ is 1/4 mile from the port and Falstaff is 3/4 mile from the port. I'd say that only matters if you're walking. It's like a 3 minute shuttle ride from Falstaff. The difference is Falstaff charges $75 to park in their garage and ride their shuttle. EZ charges $75 to park outside and walk to the port or $90 to take their shuttle.

Actually... I paid $81.19 total to park with EZ, shuttle included. It was about the same as Falstaff, but I had the option to walk over if the weather was nice.

EDIT: I just looked at Falstaff again and they are $90 with shuttle, $75 without.

You may also consider driving to the terminal and dropping off your bags and family, then driving to the parking lot.  I have been doing that for years and find the wait, particularly other than Saturday and Sunday, to be reasonable.  I’ve walked to and from EZ cruise dozens of times by myself without bags.  Just remember to keep your passport and boarding pass.  By the time I get there my wife is through security and waiting for me.  I also keep an umbrella and/or one of those 99 cent throw away rain ponchos handy for both arrival and when we get back.  I walk to the lot and drive over and pick up my wife and bags.

This sounds like the best deal... but, if I book a walking reservation, can I change it when we get there if I see the walk is too far or the drop off line is too bad? We are leaving on a Sunday.

I think it's double worth it to have this excursion through carnival. Not only due to the length, but also so you don't have to worry about fighting for an early water shuttle. You can relax in the lounge until they call you. Climbing the High Temple is one of the favorite things I've done on an excursion.

You have to book the excursion through carnival and include the link to excursion that you are price matching with. I have seen people turned down. It’s documented in some of the port of call forums so it’s a bit of a risk if you’re paying an additional $30-40pp for the carnival excursion. That’s why I’d like to see excursions people have had success with.

Here is the form you have to fill out:

Thanks! I actually booked the same excursion in Belize... submitted my form... fingers crossed. I actually found it for $74.99 on shoreexcursioneer, so we will see.

  5. Circling back to the internet plans... if I purchase one, can it be used on multiple devices, just not at the same time? Or, does it register to the one device and you always have to use it?

My wife and I may need to periodically check work email, just wondering if we can buy one plan, then log in at separate times to check.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Thanks for the recommendations... Sounds like YTD is the way to go.

I will definitely get the HUB app.

Speaking of phones and apps, I suspect both my teenage boys will get the internet package, though the cost will come out of their pockets. I guess when we purchase it, we just need to specify who it belongs to?

  7. OK... Its been 11 years since my last cruise... kids will do that to you.

So, I just booked the Carnival Freedom out of Galveston for 2/23/20.

I have a question about dining.... last I cruised, there were 2 seatings, early and late. Now, they have a 'your time' option. I understand the concept, but is there a difference from the scheduled time vs. the open time in regards to menu, etc? Please explain so I can choose. I have 2 rooms booked so making sure we have the same schedule is a must.

    Thanks in advance!
