  1. Yes we used Old Car Tours and were very happy. We picked a 1958 Cadillac with a guide. I highly recommend you add the guide. Tips (maybe 20 CUCs) are much appreciated. The ship wanted twice as much for their tours in old cars.

Do you have the email or web site info for Old Car tours? I have found two Old Car tour companies....not sure which one it is....old cars Havana or old car tours.

  2. I am a big NCL fan, but also enjoy RCCL. Sailed the Allure twice and loved it. My grown, fussy kids and their families love her also. Never had the problems you seem to be having. Along with the cafe on the promenade, there is a pizza place. I'm sure between the 2 you can fill your food cravings. Also food in the casino. First day is always tough, give it a chance.

  3. Jany is always quick to reply, if you have not heard back from her, I would check the e-mail address you sent it to as well as your spam folder.

As far as a tip goes, 10- 20% is about average. After spending the day with them, you will be more than happy to spend the 20%, which is what we did in Florence and Rome. We also had them set up a Vatican tour guide for us, she was wonderful and yes, a tip was very much called for for her a well.

You will be very happy with RIL. Friends we toured with on our cruise in 2009 have booked them again for this April. I refer them to everyone I know heading to Italy. You won't be disappointed.

  4. Your driver will be very knowlegable about the area. We saw many places no tour bus would go to. I would recommend you book your Vatican guide with RIL and not chance finding one at the Vatican. A tip is very much called for, our guide was wonderful and so were our drivers in both Rome and Florence.

    Enjoy your trip!

  5. Our first cruise was also on the Dolphin. I remember opening the cabin door to leave for dinner the first night to find those "air sick" bags tucked into the railings going down the hallways. The ship was really tossing and turning that night. Everyone was leaving the dining room unable to eat, including a pilot from Air Canada who could not believe he got sea sick. The put his salad in front of him and he literally turned green and bolted from the dining room.

She really started my love for cruising.
