I have emailed the maitre d requesting a specific table size. He emailed back the same day and gave me two options.
You can also go to Facebook and ask John Heald within 4 days of your sailing.
How would I find the email for the maitre d on the Valor is?

If you mean bus as in public transportation they do not go to Frigate Bay.
thank you
-
Is there a bus to Frigate Bay or are we better off taking a taxi?

Well my wife and I did a brief one night re-positioning cruise on Norwegian about 10 years ago. Left Seattle at 4pm and got off in Vancouver BC around 8am. Enjoyed it but....
So we've booked our family for the Feb 16th sailing on the Valor out of San Juan. Wife and I and our two boys 12 and 17 years old.
Looking forward to it. Never stepped foot on a Carnival boat and while I've heard mixed opinions, I imagine having limited cruise experience and what seems like a busy but exciting itinerary should make for a fun vacation.
Any thoughts or opinions, must do's for this trip?
I'm on that cruise too Go to Roll Call find the Valor then look for 2/16 There are tons of posts of people's itineraries...

Once you have booked your excursion with Carnival you need to find an excursion that is the same through a private company. I found one thru a post by someone on CC on our rollcall (posted link above), the other I found with a simple google search. Excursions must match as to duration and other particulars. For example, is lunch provided?, etc. Then search on Carnival website....."Excursion Guarantee" That will bring up the form you will need to fill out to claim the credit. The form is simple and is included in the copy of the email in my post above. I sent in both forms at approx. noon last Thurs and rec'd acceptances with credits around 6-7 pm that evening. I don't know if I just got lucky this time or what, but I will take the OBC without complaint!
great thanks for your quick response

Just a heads up / share the information on the Marriott day pass situation for Wed., 1/22. I made a call yesterday to check on availability for that day, person at the front desk told me they have a pretty full hotel situation that day and suggested I call back and check 1/22 when I get off the ship. The place looks great, as is the feedback on it, and that's still my No. 1 choice for the day --- but if that's in your plans Wednesday, you might want to have a back-up plan.
What is the cost of the day pass and what does it include?

Can I use a credit card at Sunset Bar or should I plan to bring extra cash? I hate to carry too much but we'll probably want drinks/lunch

I was told by Carnival and Cosol tours the waterfall is open. Can any recent visitors verify?

We just did St Martin on our own a couple of weeks ago. We took the water taxi downtown and did a little shopping. Didn't really get anything but at least walked around. We then grabbed a local bus for $2 pp, really a passenger van, and went to Maho Beach to see the planes come in. Unfortunately, it started raining really heavy just as we got to the beach. It was short lived but we were soaked to the skin. We got some great pictures though. I sat at the Sunset Beach bar with a cold drink and took pictures as my DH used his DSLR to take over 250 pictures in 2 hours. We then took a cab back to the port and did some shopping there.
Here is one of my pictures from my little point and shoot. Who needs an expensive camera.;):D
how much is the water taxi?

Thank you

What is the cost of a cab from ship to Maho?

We did Cosol's tour and we loved it also. One of the best tours we have taken.
Were you ever afraid you were going to miss the boat or get back late?

I would check with Carnival if this is the Torailles waterfall. If your cruise is leaving soon, it might still be closed down from the Christmas storm.
Carnival says the waterfall is open now Hope they are right!

I just called Carnival and they said the waterfalls are now open. Can any recent cruisers verify this?
-
Really? I think 'Chris' is Ali.
Hmm Chris???

I would like a little more information about Ali. Was his taxi clean? Properly licensed? I really want to book with him but can't find many other reviews. thank you

I'm a professional filmmaker and that decided to bring along my camera on a Carnival Victory Souther Caribbean cruise with my family. I can't believe how pretty the islands were. I had an entire beach all to myself in St. Kitts!
Which beach was it that had the trampoline in the water?
-
Spence said the same thing...waterfalls is currently closed, but that should be all.
I'm going 2/19/14 Do you think there is hope te waterfall will be reopened?
-
So I have a contact in St Thomas. Ali and sons taxis and tours. Ali is so great. Will take you where ever you want to go. If you have a group, he will take you to Coki beach, come back for you when you are done, and take you anywhere else on the island. I would highly reccommend him
I read about ali elsewhere. Where did you hear about him?

anyone?
