  1. So we booked a three week cruise on the Sun Princess in July.  After reading all the terrible dining reviews I am wishing I didn’t just make final payment.  Food is reportedly sub par.  Was told we can make reservations early on the app.  Not one single time slot is available for not one single restaurant on any day for any time.  This new ship is in use.  No shows that were promised.  I have read 45 minute waits for dining rooms.  Then extremely slow service.  Many reports of not enough staff.   I am regretting booking this ship and wish I just went with another ship or line

  2. We had dinner at Sabatinis tonight.  We have been on over 30 Princess Cruises.

Sun Par at best.  Everything was flavorless.  Then dessert came.  It was a sampler of four desserts.  Everything was just bland.  It’s obvious they are using much cheaper ingredients and you can DEFINITELY tell the difference.  If this is what the food will be like the whole cruise then we are done because it seems like it was the same on the Crown last year

  3. We have gotten the bungalow for years. I find the level of service really depends on the Ship and crew. If we cruise alone we don't get it anymore. I think it's a waste for just the two of us. If friends or family come on the cruise with us, we spring for it because the four or six of us have a great time. We bring a small radio and there is AC, a table, shelves, and closing doors. Plus a spigot shower on the side. If more than two people I would do it.

  4. We were on the Emerald for ten days last month from 18th to the 28th.

This was our 23rd Princess cruise. Entertainment was NOT good.

First, the cruise director was absent most of the cruise, except for appearing on the television tell sell something. Many other cruisers complained about the entertainment, or lack of decent entertainment.

Definitely not what they used to be. If I have to suffer through another Destination Anywhere, Motor City, or third-rate singer, I just won't go to any shows.

Actually, I found the performers in the Piazza better than the shows! The Flamenco dancers, acrobats, and passenger fashion show were better.

Hopefully they will come up with something better in the future. I can't find anymore space for all the cheesy Princess gifts my partner has one in Pop Star.

  5. We were watching and then the prices dropped considerably. That's why we booked it. Our price for our mini GTY is practically half for the room we got according to their website.

Super excited. I think this is now our 24th Princess cruise and first on the

Royal. I've looked on youtube at videos of the mini-suites. I see the balcony is smaller but workable. I think I will miss the headboard mirror. It makes the room appear larger. I also think the room looks a little bigger is because the tvs are mounted to the wall. Mini-suites on Grand class are flat, but mounted to the upper shelf.

While we were on the Emerald last month we talked to several people who have been on the Royal. There were a lot of mixed reviews. I love my Grand class ships, but I am looking forward to it. I find people don't like change and complain about many small things while on a ship.

I want to experience the new things such as Bellini's, Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar, redesign of Horizon Court, Enclave, etc.

Moreover, these seven days are nice to experience the ship before going on again in January of 2015 for ten days, possibly twenty.

    Super excited.

  6. We just completed 17 days at sea on a B2B. We did seven days on Celebrity Reflection and then ten days on the Emerald in January. What a great vacation.

We have been home now for 17 days and New York weather is disgusting. We decided to take advantage of a sale on the Royal for next month. It's our anniversary and birthday. We booked a mini suite MF category. We decided to gamble on a GTY.

This morning we were assigned A321, which is a MB category. Staterooms above and below us. No public noise. Plus, the price is much higher. I feel we did very well.

We never book GTYs. Do you think we did well?

  7. Congrats on the upgrade!

We have done 23 Princess cruises with only one upgrade from a mini-suite to owner's suite for Alaska.

Took my mother and it was her first cruise. Now, I can't take her on a cruise because she will always expect a huge suite. Ha Ha Ha!

The family suite looks really nice. Enjoy!

P.S. A little advice. Print up suite benefits on the website and utilize all that you can!

  8. We are looking to book a cruise on the Royal Princess. We have always booked mini suites on the Grand Class Ships. Can you recommend which mini suites to book on the Royal and why or why not?

    Looking forward to your suggestions.

    Sincerely,

    Brennivan

  9. We are on a B2B cruise on two lines with two different ports.

We are taking a seven day cruise on the Celebrity Reflection out of Miami. When we return to Miami, we need a car or limo to take us to Fort Lauderdale to board the Emerald for ten days (yay).

Can anyone recommend a car service? I have been online and requested quotes but no service has replied. I was looking for maybe an SUV because we have a tendency to pack like Diana Ross.

    Any suggestions?

  10. We will be cruising on the Crown and the end of the month. We are traveling with friends, but a mother and daughter are coming on their first cruise ever. They originally booked an inside cabin, but after telling them about Princess, they decided to go with a balcony.

We wanted to put together a little gift box of things most people forget on their first cruise, or didn't realize they would need.

I would like some input and ideas from all my CC members.

    Thanks, Brennivan.
