Thanks for the head's up on the time.  We are planning on doing the ship excursion if we do this.

Unfortunately for us, the ship did not have enough room for us, so we went independent.  Have fun.  We enjoyed it.

  2. Like mentioned above, walk past the line to the front and there is a separate line.  However, in November our shuttle dropped us off nicely in front of the door which was at the head of the line and at our entrance.  The only problem was that to drop bags it, it is in the middle or further back from there.  People were lined up beyond that area and it was raining.  We opted to each roll our one bag and carry on ourselves.  Because we are platinum, our room was ready.  Only time we have carried on and because of the circumstances, we did and it was easy peasy.  No one in that line and we almost walked straight on.

  3. I booked a Havana interior (first for us) for the casino offer of $100, figured since we spend all of our time in the Havana we would give it an interior a whirl.  We are gone the week of Thanksgiving.  Just got a call from Carnival this week and for $300 total, we were upgraded to a Havana balcony/patio room.  Since we were in so cheap, I was surprised and jumped all over it!

  4. I too am trying to book tickets to London next year and finding this thread interesting.  We flew from US through London to Barcelona last year through Celebrity.  We were able to book Bus. Class through Celebrity 9 months in advance and even select our seats both on American and United.  Price was amazing for bus. class.  Decided to try Fly2Fun, thinking similar experience . . . so far NOT!  Spent an hour last week with them (three different transfers to their Bus, Class specialist--she advises nothing can be booked but economy and couldn't even give me a phone number to their department to call them back once I decided.  And, price was same as I could book on line myself.  Thinking Fly2Fun is a bad idea unless someone can convince me otherwise.  Thanks for the vent and any other info that appears on this thread.

  5. I can speak to this.  Got off the Miracle a few weeks ago with the exact same situation.  Two servers told me Hubby could not buy package even though I had it.  I was not aggressive enough to go on up the chain.  Upon my return, I reached out to John Heald and he referred me to the Fun Shops people.  She confirmed that he was eligible and encouraged that I should not have taken No for an answer.  She has flagged somehow my next cruise that I have booked with that offer.  Hopefully, servers and ships will become better educated.  If you are told no, go to Guest Services and higher up the chain.

  6. Speaking of menus--we are on a 13 day to the Mediterranean.  While very seasoned cruisers, we are Celebrity newbies.  Are there any MUST HAVES or SHOULD AVOIDS we should know about?

  7. when ours was cancelled, they rebooked us on similar itinerary at no cost--125% would not have been enough to cover the new one.  Very good of them.  Additionally, fully refunded our air and we then rebooked it on the new one.  Refund was very quick.

  8. We too are booked on this one.  booked the day it opened and have beautiful corner aft balcony.  This morning bought drink package for $40.  We will be crushed if this cancels as we have the best cabin and this was our 40th anniversary cruise.  Due to other trips, we couldn't move this until 2023.  Crossing fingers.

  9. You can move the beds any way you want when you get in there.  I went with my daughter once and my cousin once.  We separated the beds and put one on each wall with the night stands in the middle.  Made the room much bigger and room stewards even commented on it.  Also, had two girl friends separate them in to sort of an "L" shape.  Beds move easy and no one cares.  Make it how you want but it will definitely make the room feel much bigger.

  10. So I have also done many premier cruises and a couple of getaways.  Have a regular cruise booked in January and then the Vista in April.  My April cruise just got listed as a premier.  I am presently booked in one of the four Havana Vista suites and have purchased a drink card.  I called yesterday to have my totally refundable suite changed to a premier so that I can receive the casino credit and participate in the fun casino stuff.  I was told by two different casino representatives that the Havana suites are specifically not included in the premier promotion.  I was not asking for any price reduction and have the drink package.  They will not honor the premier for me on that cruise with any casino credit, etc.   So my point to them was, I can book the same cruise in an inside cabin for say $500 and receive all of the perks, but my nearly $5,000 cabin doesn't qualify?  What horrible business practice.  At this point, I will be far less inclined to spend time in the casino and will hang out with my free drinks in the havana area instead.  Totally ridiculous.  (I am also a platinum member, so I have spent a lot of time with them).

  11. We were on the Splendor for super bowl last year.  They set up the entire pool area for viewing.  the only disappointment was that due to maritime laws (or something like that), they broadcast from YouTube so we did not get to see any of the commercials.  Apparently they were not allowed to broadcast them for copyright reasons or because they were not considered "local" for Mexico.

  12. kittymomma4 -- I don't think any of it was flame retardant.  I have done this over a dozen times.  No one has ever objected or asked me to remove any of the materials.  I see lots and lots of similar decorations.  Most often, the room stewards love the decorations.

  13. Feel free to move the beds around in the room.  My daughter and I just returned from the Paradise.  Upon entry into the room, just beyond the bathroom and closets, our beds were separated with just enough room to pass.  They were crossways in the room due to the built-in lights/headboard.  The night stand was in the corner.  We turned the beds around so they were running the length of the room and placed the nightstand in between.  It was amazing as to how much more room we had and how much bigger the room felt.  Our room steward was duly impressed with our rearrangement.   Just the same floor space in a different configuration made all of the difference!

  14. so, we will be getting off the Carnival Paradise on Saturday, January 19.  Our flight is not until 4:45 pm.  Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what to do to kill the day.  We will have luggage, but not opposed to renting a car to get somewhere and store our luggage.  Thoughts???  We were hoping that we could get a 1/2 day pass for Busch Gardens, but can't find that option.  Thanks.
