Thanks! We like to keep things organized and easy to spot as well. And, it keeps counters / desk tops free from clutter.
Exactly why I like it. Nothing worse than packing up and realizing you did that that item when thinking you didn't bc you couldn't find it!

Yes they work! We were on the Getaway for Halloween and had it over the bathroom door, facing the room- not in the bathroom. The one hook had an issue but once we squeezed it down more, we never had any issues. Yes there is plenty of storage in the bathroom tho- but i liked having it organized and easy to spot what might be needed.

Did you book the original trip with a TA? Have you ever heard of the TA?? If you booked with a TA; and booked onboard, they are supposed to send that to the TA.

D'oh! Was filling out my post cruise survey and realized I forgot one more thing!
The staff were SERIOUSLY pushing vacation hero cards on this cruise. To the point where one of the waitresses brought one over in the dining room, spelled her name, and watched us fill it out. It was a lot of different people in different areas - almost like a memo went out and told them to push it as hard as possible.
Anyone else experience that lately?
We were on the same cruise; and did not experience them pushing the vacation hero cards. But we only ate in specialty restaurants (had the UDP) so it was different servers each night... not sure if that makes a difference??? We did fill out one for the bartender at Headliners, but that was because she was fantastic and we wanted too.

Perhaps the OP meant "it was best to be on an NCL tour" vs a private one such as I did with Herod tours on this same day., 11.6.15. At least the OP got a partial refund. Out trip was harrowing and dangerous as the last part of our tour consisted of a return to the Getaway by boat.
The seas were rough, swollen and treacherous yet HERODS boat operators blasted through the waters at very high speeds. We asked them to slow down and the response was that if they did the boat could flip over.
Terrifying and none of us were wearing life vests.
HAROD gladly accepted everyone's money even tho many complained.
I'm glad to be alive.

We were on Herolds tour too-- and I found it enjoyable, up till the beach part. The speedboat had an issue going to the beach, than getting there it was a joke with the beautiful beach next to us but we had the one with the broken chairs  and I didn't go swimming because I don't like it when there are vendors around with my valuables. Not that we had much, but ID's to get back on and stuff. So we sat there waiting for the hour to be up, than the speedboat back was rough. I ended up in the front of the boat and was bouncing around like crazy. After seeing how NCL refunded the ship excursions, I realized maybe Herold should have done the same?? Our tour guide was great, making sure we were okay and all but I honestly don't know if I would have done the tour if it was raining when we first got off the ship. Thankfully we came back via speedboat, otherwise we might have been late if we returned by land!!

We were never pushed to fill one out on our 12 day getaway cruise. We found them randomly at guest services, and filled it out for 2 employees who we felt should be recognized. One was a bartender who was fantastic, and the other for the employee who did the behind the scenes tour. But we really did not have bad service with anyone. Everyone was always so friendly and helpful on our cruise!!! :D

I've done the dinner shows in the past, if you don't like what they're serving they will pretty much bring you anything. I asked for a cheeseburger and order of french fries and was able to get it.
That's what I wanted to hear! Thank you! No matter what, we'll enjoy it :)

Can anyone update regarding the menu alternatives?? We are booked for this over Halloween on the Getaway and curious how to alter the menu? My husband is not a seafood fan, and I'm not a fan of Cajun... but we really would like to enjoy this experience... Obviously if we pick at our meals, we won't starve with all the other meal options available on the Getaway- just would like to be prepared!

We will be in Barbados in November and have nothing planned yet.. Thinking we might want to do an island tour and just pick a company when we get off the ship vs planning thru NCL.. but now I'm not sure... are there companies that we can just grab a tour guide, or would someone suggest we pick a company with the cruise line? I don't want a full day event but honestly not sure how long it would take to go around the island, and see some of it (stopping, getting out etc)???
For two adults only; honeymoon cruise.
Thanks!

We were in 12906 on the Breakaway last month and it was fantastic. The balcony was huuuuuge....
Highly recommended! :D
Thank you! We have 51 days to go and it's at the point that planning is pretty much done, edocs printed.. just have to pack and leave!!! Can't wait!!!

Just checking to see if anyone else sailed in this cabin... I'm scheduled too in October and would like to hear peoples reviews... THANKS!!!

We are sailing on the Getaway Oct 31st and had to pick a port arrival time. For those who have sailed already (not in a suite & without priority check in) & had to pick it, how does ncl organize the check in? Do you find that you board close to that arrival time or is it mass chaos?
Thanks!

I'm on the Oct 29 Escape and have the same issue.
I called and NCL and many of the options not available online are available to book via them. They are aware of the issue but I was given no time frame on when it would be fixed. I booked a few shows that I would be mad I missed but figured I'll do the bulk of my dining after when its online and I can visualize my schedule. But most (if not all) I asked on phone was available to book.
I didn't even think to call them to book entertainment or dining- I know to cancel I have to call them which makes me a bit peeved because in this day and age, everything should be available to do online, specially they let you BOOK online. I will try to call NCL tonight and see about booking entertainment with them- I don't want to book the whole vacation, but like you, I want to book things that I would be upset if I missed.
Good thought!! :D

Hi all-
We are sailing on the Getaway on October 31st and we have the UDP (the original) and I was able to book dining yesterday- but the only dining options were Cagney's, Teppenyaki, La Cucina, Le Bistro, and Moderno.. no sign of Ocean Blue or any of the actual up charge restaurants and the entertainment was not available to book...
Has anyone had any experience as to when this will become available? Just want to get an idea as to what people's experiences have been. We are not in the Haven, so that's why we didn't book dining at 100 days out.
Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure it's by the balcony-- hopefully those who sailed in this cabin could confirm this???
When are you sailing?
-
It's best to book it shortly after boarding. It all depends on passengers interest as to how quickly the group fills up. If it's anything like the one I took on a Carnival ship, it's awesome to see what really is going on under your feet, it's a whole new world there.
Thanks, I've done it on the ncl jewel 4 years ago. Definitely will inquire about it right away :)

It doesn't seem far from the downtown area etc where the stores are but I'm unsure if it's safe to walk... Any idea?

How far is Black Beard's Castle from the cruise ports?? Approx the cost for a cab? Or is it within walking distance from the shops downtown???
I don't see limited hours on their website. It's posted as---
Blackbeard's Castle Tour operation hours
- Monday - Thursday from 9am to 2pm.
- After 1st January: Tuesday & Wednesday from 9am - 2pm
Thanks!!!

Must have changed recently because it is true now. The NCL site says "Any items over $11 will receive an $11 discount and the guest will be charged the difference to their account."
That is an awesome change!! Just wish ncl would tell us what changes are happening. Thanks

Beautiful!! Love it all! Your dress is gorgeous too!! I have a corset dress myself, and that’s a great tip about loosening it till the final moment…

Is there still a free if you have the UDP? We have the UDP & UBP.

I was on ncl in 2011,and had the Lobster in the mdr & honestly, I could have skipped it. Just bc its Lobster doesn't mean it's good. I'm thinking the specialty restaurants would have better Lobster. I'll find out in October 2015 :)

I'll be sailing in October for Halloween :) thanks, I appreciate it!
Sour Cream
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
We did the behind the scenes tour on our last cruise- on the Getaway and I saw the biggest sour cream container! So I think they have it :) Wouldn't worry about it. :D:D
