  1. I heard to get there around 11am. Would that work?

Its a little hard to pin down, we got there around 10,waited in the heat(not many shaded areas)for about 1 1/2 hours. Then,we got in line for buses that drove us an amazing 45 yards to the door. Once we were inside,it was a breeze,on ship in around 10 minutes, but its the outside part that gets you. I dont know how it was after 10, we were among the first on board, all the rest of those 2000 people came after us.

The city of Charelston is working on a better set up, hopefully they will have made progress by the time you get there. The ship is in great shape and the staff was wonderful.

  2. How is Jorge? We have a large group forming in the roll calls and it would be nice to be able to direct some of the member to here.

He was our CD on the Fascination 2 years ago.He is good, jokes are corny, but I think most CD's are.

Anyway,he made my grandson, age 6,and on his first cruise feel very special. He does take up a lot of time with the kids.Even made appearances at Camp Carnival. My grandson still has the sailor captain hat that he gave to all the kids who were there that day

  3. Interesting.

We'll have a new CD on our December 11th Fantasy cruise! Risa Barnes. She should be energetic since that will be her first cruise date! :D (on Fantasy, anyway) ;)

Risa is on the Fantasy now. She was our CD in Sept. She is a very good CD,not over the top with the announcements, she is seen all over the ship.We had a request, she made it happen.Very friendly lady. You will enjoy the cruise. But...embarkatiuon is crazy, dont go to early,There is no real waiting area to speak of, you wait outside, and it might be pretty cold.Have a great cruise

  4. Wow. I have just read all 958 posts of this thread. What a great way to spend my morning coffee time. Its a good thing I didnt have anything pressing to do this a.m.

What a wonderful review, and such a blessing for your family that you were able to do this.

We have started taking our grandson(8) on cruises with us each summer. He used to call the ships "Gigi's big boats",and he calls it making memories as well.Would not trade these times for anything.

I have saved this to my favorites to read again this winter when I need some sunshine. Thanks,I know this is a lot of time and effort, and I have really enjoyed it.

  5. Plan on your child begging to eat with them,my grandson wanted too. When I asked him if he didnt want to eat with us,he just said"Gigi,I always eat with you, I want to eat just once with my friends".The menu was limited..grilled cheese sammies, hot dogs and the others that have already been listed here. When you go to register your child on the first day of the cruise, bring up the allergies and your concerns at that time. That gives you a contact person who you can go to, as well as informs whoever is over the agegroup for your child. Have a great cruise:)

  6. here's another site with a few more pics (scroll down a little - the first pics are of mardi gras):
