We are renting a car in NJ and then dropping it at FLL the morning of our princess cruise.

I was thinking of dropping our luggage at the pier and then driving over to the airport to return the car. Then taking the cab back to the pier without schlepping the luggage. Does this make sense?

Sure does make sense. Drop off early as possible take car back and come back to the pier.

We did this 1 time and was we liked it.

You actually give all the info to the shuttle company, and they track your flight.. and are in contact with you directly.. the driver texts you. Last year I gave them a guess when we were getting off the ship and the driver text me around that time asking if I was ready.  Call Corey at Cruise Control Transportation, he's the owner and will answer all your questions.  We are using them again in a few weeks.  Very reliable.

    Yep! This x 2

used CC a few times and would use them again.

We love Brilliance and decided to take a shortie cruise since it’s moving away from Florida going to Australia. We did this during Spring Break 😳

However, all the guests, younger, older and in between had a great time and were all well behaved. Everyone looked like they had a great time.

The crew was fantastic as it seems they always are on Brilliance. The ship was always being cleaned, which we haven’t seen much on other ships recently, the MDR food tasted good and was cooked at the proper temperature, and the entertainment was good as well. We never sat at a messy table in any area as we had seen recently on another ship, which wasn’t easy because it was very crowded and had many children and lots of college age guests.

If I had to say one thing negative, it’s that although the WJ food was ok, Royals decision to make repetitive, inexpensive foods that are swimming in brown or reddish liquid, where you don’t even know what it is, and it’s served every day with a small addition or subtraction of one ingredient so they can put a different sign up, it makes them look like a cheap cruise line. This is on all the recent ships we’ve been on, not just Brilliance. Many walk around with an empty plate looking for something to eat and that includes the ships white shirt crew that I saw every day.

On the positive side, we had more than 2 butters at dinner without needing to request it, and they had ice tea!  Funny how such small things can make ones cruise more enjoyable 😉

    .

We were on her this sailing too and had a great time.

MDR food was very good and never had an issue with asking for two entrees and only ate in WJ when needed a snack during pool time.

Great vaction with 7 high school senior young men and their families.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise on Brilliance. I have a question about embarkation at port of Tampa. We have 12:30 arrival time and would like to meet friends before boarding. Do you think that we could check in earlier and wait/ watch for them in the terminal or will we be in a queue outside the terminal?  I am not sure when they will be arriving to the port. We will be arriving early and parking at the port.
Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.

We were on this trip as well and had a family in our group for later boarding. They walked right on with us and no one said a word, we had 11am slot and all our group was checked in by 10:30 and onboard by 11am.

We had an early flight and it all worked out great.

    Have fun.

My eDocs that I printed today for our cruise in 3 weeks still shows the old rules under what you are allowed to bring. Will be interested to see if I have to bring that out at boarding and if they will honor it or decide to hold onto 2 bottles for the cruise to return to me at the end. We have 2 rooms booked with 1 adult in each.

Same here, we cruise the 18th of March and right on the docs it states this.

We will try and see what happens.

Hoping to have day of sea and sun in Grand Cayman, and reading about hurricanes’ impact on 7 Mile Beach and erosion, we decided to head to West Bay Public Beach. This beach is further north from the port and appear to have been spared much of the erosion that the southern part of 7 Mile Beach has suffered.

We took the public bus (USD$2.50 pp and very short easy walk from the port) and in less than half hour we were at West Bay Public Beach. It has food, drinks, restrooms and lounge chairs and umbrellas for rental. We paid USD$20 for two loungers and one umbrella. We settled in a spot around the middle of the beach which is convenient to amenities. We arrived around 11:00 AM on a Friday and the beach was still empty. Within an hour or so, more and more cruisers arrived. The water was absolutely amazing and warm! The beach and sand was beautiful. We visited in mid-February 2023.

If you prefer to stay closer to the port and go to the beaches toward the southern end of 7 Mile Beach, suggest checking the beach conditions.

Thanks for the update. This is what we plan to do in March.

Agree with tag.  We've never taken photos, and we always get our boarding passes, including one a week or so ago.

We don't do the Health Screening until we get to the terminal, either.  We don't use the app.

No app here either, phone is going in the safe and I will turn it on when back in port.

So your question is asking if an adult needs permission to travel.  Most posters seem to tell you about the room arrangements which is not the same as your question right?

Adults do not need permission to travel.  There is no difference between a 18 year old, and a 50 year old adult.  If I don't need permission from my mother, than the other adult does not.  As a matter of fact, if you did have a letter, it wouldn't even be valid since the parents no longer have legal authority over them.

    Yep, exactly.

I told the other party who is taking the 1 of the adults that I would not be getting any type of permission as it would not do me any good. They make their own choices, good or bad and then live with the consequences.

The TA is the one who mentioned it and I did not want to try and emberass her on the info zoom call.

1st time I ever used a TA in 20 plus cruises. Only reason, one of the people in our party knows this person so we went with it. With a big group it was convenient and they were helpful.

    Party on!

You could just leave them at home.

Two 18 year olds with free reign without parents for a week, what could go wrong?  They may be able to get a jump start on the school project due before the end of the school year.

    Na!

We like our seniors and they are well behaved young men with a bright future. There will be 7 of them, only the 2 will be traveling without their parents. So we are taking them on a spring break adventure. They all have been friends since kindergarden.

The parents not going put my DW and I in charge.

2 hard rules that will get them benched, no going into another room that is not theirs and cannot sleep all day.

Also, the cabin for 4 is right next to mine.

We're doing the same thing, only with 3 extra 18 YO's. We got two connecting rooms with me being the primary in room 1 with an 18 yo, and a connector with 2 18 YO's. We then got a room down the hall with my wife and another 18 YO. They 18 YO's will ultimately share the connecting rooms and I'll stay down the hall with the mrs.

Royal said nothing to us about the setup or the different names. I even explained what we were doing. I had to call this in to get the rooms reserved, and no mention of it.

The boys all have passports and a confirmed reservation.

From where did you hear about this parental consent? If you hear anything else about this, please share!

A TA that was used for this trip.

She told us on a zoom call we had with the families going.
