Suite 6002 is located directly above the Nautical show lounge. You will hear the entertainment staff rehearsing in the afternoon and the show itself every night.

Did you notice any differences in in ship’s condition or service in a cruise which immediately followed a world cruise? Would you advise against booking?

Hi, RosseauGirl,
I have read that Canada has issued restrictions on ships this month to protect the right whales, many of whom have been injured or killed from collisions with ships. Some cruise lines have altered itineraries. Has Silversea altered your schedule?
-
Wes, we had the pleasure of meeting Ida and you, (RachelG and George, too!), on a Spirit crossing several years ago. We're looking forward to another wonderful blog. Enjoy the Wind.

Marittima, not San Basilio?
An Azamara rep told me this week that Quest will be docked at Marittima, the main passenger terminal, for our May 5 cruise.
I also read recently that starting in 2017, cruise ships will no longer be permitted to dock at the smaller pier.
-
Joyce,
We booked the May 5th Quest voyage for exactly the same reasons as you! I sincerely hope that our voyage won't be adversely impacted. I wonder how it will be "special'?

Thank you. I hope your cruisehas been fantastic.

Mercruser,
What is being offered for transfers to the airport?
Thank you.

Ivo was our butler on Marina in April. We felt that he was extremely helpful, courteous, personable and professional.
BTW, Kekilia's pictures are of an Oceania suite.

I'm sorry that you were treated rudely for asking a question. My request for a box lunch 3 years ago on Silversea was cheerfully filled. This was in a South Africa port. We were scheduled to have an all day private tour to an elephant reserve. The tour guide informed us ahead of time that food would not be available and suggested that we bring a lunch. The only caveat was to avoid citrus fruits as the elephants love oranges. Years ago the reserve area had been devoted to growing oranges and the elephants retained an atavistic taste for citrus.
The bottom line is that some cruise lines will provide a boxed lunch if local regulations permit. YMMV.
Enjoy your cruise!

Ohmark, thank you for you clear, concise explanation.

We disembarked the Sapphire in Bucharest on the 23rd. Water levels were not a problem on this eastern Danube itinerary. The cruise director and more than 50 passengers had boarded in Amsterdam while we hadn't boarded until Budapest. Numerous passengers and the cruise director said that Scenic had transferred passengers from one boat to another rather than turn the cruise into a coach tour. I don't have any specific information, but hope this may lesson your anxiety.
-
Smallshiprider, thank you for sharing your experience. We are on the same cruise as Alexandracruiser. I hope your butler wasn't transferred to the Sapphire!
How did you feel about the excursions?

Canal Archive,
I also received a positive response from Scenic. I will elaborate on the Roll Call.

Rachel, and here I thought I was one of your favorite people on our TA cruise!

Hi Dermot,
Thank you for the suggestions. The AA Route Planner will be very useful. Kilkenny sounds appealing, and the races at the Curragh also sound like fun.

Hi Mairnealach,
Sorry I wasn't more specific. We will arrive in port (Alexandra Quay Pier) at 08:00 on Sept. 8 and sail at 23:00 on Sept. 9. We will have just 1 overnight away from the ship.
Our previous port will be Belfast where we have booked a car and will drive to the Giant's Causeway and hopefully also see some of the Mourne Valley . The ship is not in port overnight in Belfast.
Our port after Dublin is Waterford where we plan to do a walking tour (and shopping!).

may I ask your advice for a 2 day driving trip from Dublin? We will have an overnight in Dublin giving us 2 days to explore the countryside. We have visited Ireland several times on independent driving tours and have booked a car. Could you recommend an itinerary? We are considering Powerscourt and Glendalough but what else might we see? We have been to Newgrange and found it fascinating. Our plan is to overnight at a B & B.
Thank you.
-
Terry, thank you very much.

Would you please share contact information for your private driver in Gudvangen?
Thanx
-
Terry,
I just want to add my thanks for all of your wonderful photos and enthusiastic descriptions.
Have you booked another cruise?
