  1. Hello all,

    Andrew here from Ohio.

I will be joining you all on this cruise.   I'm going solo this time on a casino deal.  Flying LAX to SYD a few days before then to BNE.

Looking forward to the 22 days.

Does anyone know what testing  (covid) will be required?

I ask because my buddy is on the splendor from Sydney on April 11 and received a letter from Carnival that masking and testing  are required. I've yet to receive anything regarding testing etc.

Thanks for any info and looking forward to meeting you all.

  2. Thanks for sharing your experience.  I am about to reserve a golf cart with them..  I see that it says you replaces gas used,

Wondering how difficult it was to find a place to refill the cart or do they just charge you for the gas used?

    Thanks

  3. Wondering if anyone knows if you have to select a specific time for the transfer to the port.  In the past, I've had to select a time  and enter our flight info..but we've never used Fly2Fun until now..  since Carnival has our flight information. Do they assign us a time according to our arrival?   The website didn't offer me any times or ask me for my flight info when I booked for myself and travel buddy.

.  Adding to that....we have my nephew joining us who's flights are not thru Fly2Fun.    Just spoke to an agent after a very long hold who added in the nephew's transfers and she didn't  know for sure...  ugh... Don't want to hold for another afternoon.  I know they're crazy busy.....God Bless them!

    Thanks!

  4. My 14 yo nephew has decided that he wants to join us on our b2b Mardi Gras cruise in April and I would love for him to join us.

He has a food texture aversion and only likes to eat applesauce type foods.  Usually the Motts snack pack Applesauce.     Does anyone know if we would be able to carry on a case of the snack pack type.

    Thanks in advance

  5. I'm thinking of grabbing a casino deal on the Panorama for April of 2022 for a B2B.

Just wondering if anyone has experience staying in one.  I think I saw a post about breakfast in a separate area.  Also, I am a smoker.  Wondering about the nearest places to smoke.. I think I read there is smoking on  deck 5.

Any information about your experience in an Inside Havana cabin would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!!

  6. Was it difficult to get taxi/uber to the port the day of the cruise?  We're staying at Moody Gardens and they say they dont have a shuttle unless you book your room directly through the hotel.  I've contacted a couple transportation companies and the either dont pick up at hotels or its over $100 for the short trip to the port.

    thanks!

Back from our cruise and wanted to add our experience.  We left the port and walked left past the taxis to the area for the water taxi.  It was the San Perdro Belize Express.  We bought our round trip tickets with a credit card ($28 USD pp).  Note if you use paper bills they must be clean and no tears.  Waited until the 10:30 arrived, were able to sit up top.  About a 50 minute ride.  Got off and hired a taxi (golf cart) for $20 for a 45 minute tour around the island.  Our driver was Max, very nice man.  Rode us around the "main roads" (dirt), to the airport, to the resort with the seahorses, to the pier with the tarpons, and to the Split.  Schools kids were on lunch break and I enjoyed seeing them ride their bicycles around.  Took about an hour and he dropped us off near the pier and we bought local beer at the Brisas del Mar bar. Took the 1:30 back.  We really enjoyed the island and I would recommend this as an inexpensive and relaxing port experience.

So your total time there was  only approximately 2 hrs?  I'm interested in doing this but that seems alot of trouble for just hours.  Any info would be appreciated?

    Thanks!

Now I see Amber Cove, Halfmoon Cay and Bimini.  Never been, now I need to find out what to do.  But I do like just being on the ship.  It would be quite and I could just read a book and relax

Are you looking at your Cruise Planner?  My itinerary still says the original GC, Ocho Rios and Cozumel.

I'm happy with the new ports as we're also doing B2B on Aug 7th.

The new ports to see is fine with me!

  9. Just asked my travel partner.  If he wanted to do the same itinerary for the 2 weeks on Vista or change everything to the MG out of Canaveral.   I was excited to maybe get on Mardi Gras.

    His response:     No!

    My response:   Are you serious?

    oh well.

  10. Looks like GC is closed to cruise ships.

Has anyone heard or have any ideas what port will be substituted if any? We're scheduled on the Vista  Aug 7th from Galveston.

Was looking forward to the stingrays again.

Oh well another sea day would be fine with me or any other stop really,   just happy to be cruising again.

    Thanks in advance

Waiting to see what happens.  We are supposed to be on 8 day Horizon and then my Mom and I are supposed to stay on ship for the next weeks 6 day.  Not looking real good at this point.  Glad I have not bought airline tickets yet

    just happened on your post.

We're "in/on" the same boat 'firedisney97".  Booked the 8 day then the 6 day...  with airline tickets booked.

    Waiting to see what happens.

Carnival Australia cruises are now available to book on the USA site. Does anyone know what will happen if you put your Cancelled cruise $600 on one of these cruises? do you get $600 Aus, $600 USD or something else entirely? Regardless it is exciting that these cruises will be more accesible to Americans. I also hope these cruises will get Lobster on Elegant night as they haven't in the past.

Dont have the answer for this, but I noticed this yesterday while looking at my casino offers..  Got an ultra for the HNL-BNE last year but was unable to take advantage of it.   E-mailed the casino department yesterday to see if they know if any Casino deals will be offered this time around as none were showing.   Fingers crossed they will..  I'll not hesitate to book this time.

You can check in to the terminal any time although you must chose a boarding time when you do your online.  It doesn't mean anything but you have to pick one.  When they start actual boarding you can go on just after Faster to the Fun. ( it may be just before, don't remember for sure.)  For me the biggest pert is having shorter wait time to get in the door. passport check and security scan.  think about it as being in the TSA PreCheck lines at the airport.  From my experience Carnival usually starts boarding by 11:30 so I get to the terminal door about 11:15 or so.  walk straight through and by the time I get to the waiting area I am able to walk straight on.  20 minutes or so

    Thank you!

  14. Since we can no longer get Diet Coke on the ship,😧

Does anyone know if there is a place (Walgreens/CVS) where we could by a couple 12 packs near the Embassy Suites located on 601 Pacific Hwy?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit:           Sorry something within walking distance..

  15. Diet Coke addict here..

I know you can carry on soda in cans but I hate the taste of anything out of an aluminum can.  Can anyone share if they've had any trouble carrying on the 16.9 or 20 oz plastic bottles.

I hate the thought of 13 days with out my Rum and Coke!

    Thanks!

  16. Just wondering ,

I've booked a Panama Canal cruise for next year under a great casino rate with guarantee ocean view.  . Final payment is due Nov 3.  My question is... If I wait till November to make final payment do I stand a better chance at a better cabin location or upgrade.  Not asking for something for free, just curious.  I've never booked a guarantee cabin.

    Thanks in advance.
