If I had done this as many times as you have :) I would probably have more confidence in the ability to do that. Probably should have said "tour Exit Glacier" instead of "Exit Glacier Tour". We debated over Seward - with just the one day, we felt like if all we did was the NW fjords tour (which I'm sure is outstanding), we would have sacrificed seeing/doing anything else that day. Won't know if that is a wise/unwise decision until we do it. And I really don't see how to squeeze more time in there without giving up something somewhere else. Turning the car in Sunday night is quite doable (you already saved me 1/2 day with your earlier post). Planning on getting TourSaver when comes out in November - I'll cancel and re-book if necessary - they won't be able to say they don't have a spot :).

I've tried it and use it exclusively each time we go. In fact, DW said as we were unpacking on Oasis last May, I was going to have to start packing her bags!

12206 is actually at the end of the hump - the balcony will be angled and slightly larger than the one directly behind it. 8590 (one we stayed in and have booked again on Allure) is at the beginning of hump (as are several on other decks, 10, 11, 12, 14 etc). 12190 would be same on port side of ship.

Langley Cruisers: Thank you for posting that picture. I do appreciate it, however I believe you were in a category D1 and the picture I am looking for is actually of a D5- specifically the very last "hump" room. According to the RCL website rendering and what other posters have said, this particular D5 has a slightly larger balcony than others (but smaller than the D1 you were in). I was just hoping to see exactly how it looks.
I've got 8590 booked for same reason but still have a year to wait before seeing it. Have only been able to confirm the balcony is "angled" as it opens out to the D1's behind it - apparently, no one that frequents these boards has stayed in one of them. And I thought it was at the beginning of the hump, not the end...

The theatre is not flat like the interactive chart implies. It is actually fairly steep, more like stadium seating. This is one of the reasons that food is not served in the theatre, with the exception of a great ice cream stack during the intermission (extra charge unless you have purchased one of the better packages).
You are correct that the better packages get the better seats (closer & center). We bought the Super Ambassador Package for our last visit and we were seated in the first row, dead center.
Good to know - having not been there, my only point of reference was the short movies they have posted on their website. All about angles I suppose. Our ambassador package appears to have us in pretty good seats.

Where could one eat before going to the Breath of LIfe evening show, if they did not eat at the PCC? I asked this once before and was told there is a McDonalds close by. Somehow I think the luau food would have to be better than McDonalds. Do you have another suggestion? The only thing I am thinking is that if we don't eat at the PCC, we are not likely to get good seats at the show.
Since I already know how you LOVE to research, go directly to the PCC site itself. They have pictures of the show so you can get an idea of the theater. You are correct in that those that choose the better packages (we got the ambassador) will get better seats. There is an interactive seating chart that will show you what sections are available based upon the package you choose. The seating areas appear to be relatively flat (unlike a movie theater for example) so it looked like to us it paid to get closer to the stage. We're going the Saturday we end the cruise since we're staying over until Sunday for return. And we have to drive back to Waikiki.

You could always hire your self on a ship, then you would get all the free travel you could ever want.

I'm thinking that after a 9 hour shift at WallyWorld, I could put together enough for an Early Bird Special at Denny's. Hey, maybe I could get a job there washing dishes, too!!
The way things are going in the stock market, this might not be that far fetched!!!
Thanks, Paine Webber!
MrTractor<---------thinks he'd make a great WallyWorld Greeter......
I agree with your comments about the stock market. I think any hopes I had of retiring have gone right down the toilet with the value of the market.
I'm not outgoing enough to be a WallyWorld greeter, however. Anyone else have any great suggestions for those of us who are going to be looking for a job when we're 70?
Now you two really have me thinking.......Lost a full time job appx 10 yrs ago so obviously had to do Something. Went to school and got a dealer's license for blackjack at a casino (license still good until next year). Better than minimum wage - work 60 minutes and get a 20 minute break! If you're good with math and don't have arthritis, might be an option. Hmmmmmmm - I could retire as a dealer on a cruise ship!!!!!!!! WOO HOO :D

btw - BoA has already "de-activated" the online link to apply for the NCL card and in addition, the "Terms and Conditions" link on their site for the NCL card is "not available". Better hope you still have you hard copy!
Reveal Your 2014 Alaska Itinerary Plans
in Alaska

It's in my signature - Norwegian Sun (also last line in day 10). Best advice is to read as much on this board that you can stand. There are some real Alaskan experts on here that are always willing to help. You can't do it all in a single trip (unless you have about 3 months free-lol). We had done an inside passage cruise back in 2006 so already had ideas about the cruise part of the trip. Most everything else came from suggestions/recommendations from posts in this forum. Just decide what you "can't miss" and you can find out something about it on here. Don't be afraid to book anything you know you will be doing/need early (cars, tours, rooms, etc.) but that is a personal preference. Some folks do it all in the last 90 days before they leave. Happy planning (I started when booked cruise in Dec 2012!).
