  1. I am thinking get to the pier around 10:30? We arrived at 1pm and they were sooo long.

A big tip: When you get off the ship and you see the HUGE line waiting to go through customs..DON'T stand in it. Get one of those porters with the carts to take your luggage and they will wisk you through their own customs line. Waaaaayyy quicker...

This tip worked great for us too!!! We got a porter at the bottom of the ramp & we walked right by the huge long line to wait in a semi short one, not to mention we were not having to carry a thing. Well worth the $ tip per bag. Plus, he was nice and FUNNY! I was surprised more people weren't using them...

Should I just suck it up and take one for the team or try and encourage a later seating? What do you think is the best dinner seating?

Based on what I've heard now, unless you have young kids and will retire early, take the LATER dinner seating. I usually eat fairly early, but since there is food ALL over the ship & you tend to snack more you can wait longer. Then you also tend to stay up later because most of the fun stuff starts after 10PM for adults. Finally, on port days, you'd practically have to rush back to get ready in time for early dinner, then you sit around waiting for stuff to do AFTER dinner. (at least that's what I heard)

Later dinner worked best for me, so I was glad I listened to the advice on the boards. You need to decide what will work best for YOU and your family. I don't know how hard I would work to get your ENTIRE group to agree. You would just have to decide if it's more important that you are all "eating at the same time." Are you planning on staying together the entire cruise? Are there mostly adults who will want to do stuff after dinner? or do you have mostly a few adults with lots of young kids? Either way, there are a lot of dining opportunities so you don't just have to eat in the dining room. I think on port days the dining room is fairly empty at the early dinner times...

  2. We sailed on Conquest last year. first time. had a starboard balcony and missed most of the port views. I am booking a port side this time to take advantage of sitting on my balcony and looking at Coz. but any balcony is great.

Just got back from Conquest 4/6 and had starboard balcony. This time it was perfect! We were viewing the port from balcony in MoBay, I guess it works either way in GC since we tendered, but the views were spectaculor. In Coz we were pulled in right next to the Valor so I was happy to have a view that was NOT directly at another ship. Starboard worked just great for us.

Love love love the balcony. Now I'm spoiled & will feel like I've taken a step down to do without one.... HIGHLY recommended. it was ABSOLUTELY worth the extra $ for us. Especially since we have smokers... please, go out on the balcony!!

  3. I tried to do a search but it was unavailable. I think we've had some recent geocachers on this Western Carrib route?

Any good finds? Any suggestions for Cruisers as far as what would be best with limited time? This is my first cruise & I am also fairly new to caching, but I'd love to get an international!!

(FYI: Geocaching is where you use gps to find things...)

As you can see I'm leaving asap & I just thought I'd check I don't know by looking which ones would be convenient and/or safe for me to try and get.

    Thanks!

  4. Okay, I joined and even added the CC team. I'm still having a hard time figuring it all out. I wish I joined B4 I lost the weight, but I need help keeping up w/ nutrition & fitness goals.

And I'd like to start uploading pictures on my page.

    Great site, thumbs up!

  5. Thanks everyone, I'm writing these down to keep as I go shopping. Hope I find at least one of these. I bought something a while back & didn't notice any difference & was disappointed. My lips aren't super thin, but as I age they just don't look as good.

I thought maybe like the self tanner thread, that a "clear winner" would come out that lots of people had tried & it really worked like the ad says it will...

  6. I'm just glad to know about the possibility of being delayed for an hour or so ahead of time so we won't be stressed about it after our wonderful week on the Conquest.

Exactly. Knowing about the possiblilites ahead of time is one of the great things about these boards. I think the rotation will hit your debarkation weekend, but wouldn't the crew wait for pax to get off first?

Now, for the CD, I am sitting here disappointed that we won't have Mark Price. And I've never even met him!! Whose wee Jimmy? Does he do as good of job? Is he new? Does it even matter? Which line did Mark go to work for now? Either way.... I only have about 3 more weeks to go!!!

  7. Thanks, Sixgun8 & Watzonii.

You're right! Now that I remember it, a lot of the problems were because of the fog delay that particular day. The crew change just added a little more frustration for those who were already waiting.

Watzonii, sorry if it's going to hit you, but I think I made it out worse than it really is. I will hope for you that you have no additional delays.

    Like... the dreaded FOG .

How were you able to find out the information? I didn't know where to look.

  8. I remember reading somewhere that the boarding was delayed on the Conquest because it was time for the 90 day Crew Rotation. I also remember thinking this might happen for my cruise based on the dates. Does anyone know when they will change again?

(your NOT allowed to say the 30th of March ;) )

Sorry if this has already been covered.. so many pages & I couldn't get search to work..
