The Grand Princess cruise that had COVID 19 problems recently had the roll call for the original cruise which people who were on the cruise could continue to post on and where using it to communicate with each other.  Other CC members could access it to read, but where not allowed to post on it, so it was kept clear for the passengers as well as being first hand information about the ship as it was at the time.

Not sure if anyone on Arcadia has thought of posting on their original roll call (assuming there would be one), but could be a good way forward and it also meant that posts were not drowned in the chatter and opinions that over ride much information on social media and which I find very irritating at times.

We were on this cruise until San Francisco, there was a roll call but nothing has been posted since we left Southampton.

How’d you dry the stuff that can’t go in the dryer?

We have a magnetic line complete with pegs which we use in the bathroom for hand washed items,  also hang the  clothes on hangers and air dry in the cabin overnight.

The one time I decided to use it, I took someone''s clothes our of the machine as it was finished and put them into a basket.  You should have heard the language when the person came back.  It was like I was infected with something.  Now I just take everything home.  I don't do laundry when I'm on holiday.

We would normally wait until we got home but this time we are on board for 4 weeks and we are flying back so are restricted with luggage, so unfortunately will have to visit the laundry!!

  4. We cruised the Inside passage the last week of May in 2008 and the weather was really good*, bright sunshine, beautiful views, lots of wildlife. Only really cold when we got up close to the Hubbard Glacier. We were very fortunate.

  5. We are also on this cruise. We have never found the ship to be cold in the evening, but always pack a pashmina just in case.

The weather in the Med should still be very nice at this time of year.

We are packing for warm weather but including a couple of jumpers and jackets for the return especially across the Bay of Biscay.

As we have no restriction on baggage allowance from Southampton we always take a waterproof jacket and a small umbrella just in case.

    Hope this helps a little.

    Jane
