I think they are starting to come back (pier runners).  I don't know when you sailed but once a lot of the countries and restrictions changed (only ship excursions, approved taxis (Grenada in December))...etc..  I tended to see more.  I didn't see any last November off of Adventure but I'm usually at the gym at sailaway.  I did see a few in Bermuda in September.

Is Grenada busier in December or has more rules? Or it’s still easy to get the water ride to the beach without booking an excursion? Tysm

    What additional perks?

I don't see anything here that wasn't in the original plans for the Beach Club?

My apologies - I should of worded this better. There are NO additional perks but yet the price went from $40-$65pp to $199pp so we thought maybe that was why ... surely they must of added more to make it that much more expensive... but it’s no different ... they’ve just raised the price. Which is why we will not be booking the club. But it looks lovely.

I am there now. Well I came back to NV 20 minutes ago. Paid 40 bucks on Black Friday. I'd go maybe up to 60 or so. More than that, I'd find pals and get a cabana.

It's reallllllly nice! Comfy chairs, nice, but coolish pool, fabulous service and the lunch was the BEST meal I've had all weekend!

Get the lobster. You CAN get surf & turf per the restaurant manager if you ask.  Lunch is served, but there is a self serve salad bar. They will make a reservation for your lunch when you arrive.

They could use more restrooms, though perhaps there are some in the beach club that I missed.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was starting to wonder if they raised the price to $199pp bc of additional perks that they added since the price was $40-$60pp. Glad you got in at the lower price. Great deal! While it looks lovely (And I would of gladly paid $40pp as you did) at the new price we are passing - I can think of better ways to pamper ourselves with the $400. 🙂

Wow I am so glad I booked our day passes with black friday sales for $50 pp for our march 27th sailing.

3 days ago the price was 90 something now $199. That's crazy!!!

Good deal! We were going to buy when they were $65 but a rep told us to wait as they had gone to as low as $50. We just saw $199pp and have decided against that. $400 for us to get a better meal and a private pool area? Pass. We have had so many issue with this booking though so I’m not surprised. This will be our second and probably last time with Royal Carribbean. We prefer the service on Princess and Celebrity (and you don’t have to spend two hours on hold onthe phone for them) and the prices are more stable day to day. Have a wonderful time and let us know what you think :-)

Considering booking one of these interior rooms. Wondering if anyone has pictures or information on them. It's a little hard to tell from the deck plans, wondering if these cabins run parallel to the hallway. Also, looks like they backup to the fitness center. Thoughts on noise level? Thanks all and happy cruising!

Did you end up booking it? How was it?

Went through and deleted or modified qty (used •• where I added comments or changed qty) on what I thought would go unused. My biggest regret from cruises in the past was bringing too many clothes. Bring items to mix and match. It's always easy to hand wash or throw a load of laundry in. Check the cruise activities ahead of time and see if there are any theme nights. If you enjoy participating in those make sure you have some fun items to do that :-) some sailings have disco or 80s nights or 50s proms ... they usually post closer to the sailing.

    Have a great trip!

  7. Island Princess has only two MDRs rather than three, so fewer tables for Anytime Dining than most of the rest of the fleet.

Unless you wish to eat before 5:30 or after 7:30 expect a significant wait for a two top. Less so if willing to share. And there are a lot of eight- and ten-tops in both Traditional and Anytime dining on Island as its capacity was increased by more than 200 passengers in a retrofit a few years ago.

I was on Island in May and was extremely glad to have gotten Traditional dining, even though at a ten-top way in the back of the dining room. A few years earlier was on sister ship Coral Princess doing ATD and there were considerable waits until about 7:45 each night even without the 200+ extra passengers. In the future I would only do Traditional on Coral or Island (or any other Princess ship with fewer than three MDRs).

Note than on Alaska sailings you can disregard whatever the TD times say in the Cruise Personalizer--the actual times will be 5:15 and 7:30 once you board. So consider switching if no wait is more important than being seated either a bit earlier or later than you normally prefer.

Thank you. This is good to know. I think we signed up for anytime but will switch it :-)

  8. The remodeled Island has the large balconies on the Promenade deck. The shower is a little larger, the television is wall-mounted, and the balcony flooring is teak, not the hard blue plastic like most other balconies. They are also completely covered. There's no access to the balcony while you are in the locks, but it's only for about 30 minutes. We stayed in one of these cabins and were completely spoiled. It was great because you have easy access to everything on the Promenade Deck.

We are also in one of the Promenade rooms on the Island for a future Panama partial cruise. Thank you for the info. I see some people posting that over the door shoe racks are handy on the longer cruises... do people use them on this ship? We have never done that in the past but have never cruised more than 7 days.
