  1. Going on our first ever back-to-back cruise next year so I have a few questions for those lucky enough to have done this before.

    1) We have the same cabin for both cruises .. I assume we can leave our luggage in the cabin?

    2) Do we disembark on the first cruise (minus luggage) then embark as usual again for the second?

    3) Will we be able to assist our elderly parents off the ship with their luggage after the first cruise?

    4) Assume new sign/sail cards?

    5) Would we have to wait until 1:30 to re-enter our cabin?

    6) Anything else BTB first-timer should know?

    thank you

  2. Good question about what meds they have available for covid. Anxiously awaiting responses. And does anyone know what they charge for an office visit? And for the covid meds if available?

I contracted norovirus about 10 years ago onboard and it was horrible! Sicker than I’d ever been. Only lasted a couple days. Medical gave me meds which helped tremendously.  I quarantined in my cabin and was brought bland food (all in plastic and disposable dinnerware) for my stomach issue. Rice. Chicken broth, jello, etc. …. Which was great when super sick and needing to eat. We did get free movies and onboard credit. But here is the thing ….. we were never charged a penny for anything!! Must have been an error on their part because we waited for a bill or for it to show on our account. It never did. But again, we were treated very well and appreciated it tremendously.

  3. Anyone familiar with being dropped off and picked up by a family member at the terminal? Our son lives in PA and will be dropping us off and then picking us up upon our return. Is there a designated lane or location for drop-off passengers? And for passengers to be picked up?

    thanks

  4. Anyone done the All-Inclusive excursion to Sol Y Mar Beach Club through Carnival lately? We will be there 10/22. I’ve also heard sand fleas/bug bites are a major problem .. anyone have input? Comments/advice welcome. Thank you.

The Deluxe Queen rooms at Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf offer a full range of services to make your stay unforgettable. All of them have a queen-size bed (150x200 cm), satellite TV, a coffee machine, a mini-fridge and a safe.

OMG … thank you Saint Greg … I totally missed that 🫣

The app version stinks. Would like the hard copy back, please!  Much easier to read and compare that way

I love the hard copy … bring my highlighter and highlight away.  I prefer to go by guest services (or other locations) and grab the old school printed paper copy. I am disappointed that we have to keep our cell phones with us …. It’s vacation and we want to get away from feeling the need to have it on or near us 24/7.  Back in the day we’d turn it off, put it in the safe and await the non-stop jingles of all the message notifications missed once we turned our phones back on. Always fun listening to everyone’s ring tones during debarkation. LOL

Look up their phone number, give them a quick call and ask them.  Simple.

Yes, that is simple …. unless the phone rings and rings and no one answers! And……simple questions like this on this board often come with replies containing more details and comments that are always interesting.

    NAAT/PCR test 72 hours before.

You can do an Antigen 2 days prior.

And I keep second guessing myself .. thank goodness we have the Cheers package cuz I’m gonna need a drink … or twelve …… by the time we board ……….LOL ….

The “Antigen 2 days prior” test is the BinaxNOW kit that you perform at home while connected to someone online and receive results in 15 minutes???

We are testing at 4am (Ohio time) on Saturday prior to our flight ….. and boarding our ship at noon (San Francisco time) on Monday heading to Alaska with one short stop in Canada (which adds another level of frustration and worry with the whole ArriveCAN issue).

I am pretty certain 🤷🏻‍♀️ Carnival is sticking to the testing TWO DAYS prior meaning TIME STAMP DOESN’T MATTER 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 If it does we would be a few hours short. 🤯🤯🤯. We want to get our negative test results before boarding a plane.

  10. Just yesterday, I saw the word ARRIVECAN. I clicked on it and now OMG, I am so confused. Have not heard of this before.

We are cruising round-trip from San Francisco with our last port stop (day before arriving back) being Victoria, Canada AND we are taking the White Pass Rail excursion in Skagway. I have seen absolutely nothing in my booking where it states we would have to do anything with ArriveCan. It’s not listed anywhere that I can find. Sooooo, until Carnival lets me know this is required, do I just not worry about it?????? I would think Carnival would have notified us somewhere within the booking process that this would be necessary. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Sure don’t want to fly in to San Francisco and attempt to board and them say “show us ArriveCan information” and we have nothing and can’t board.  Hard enough with all of the ever changing Covid rules. 🤯

Confirmed by John Heald-testing ,must be done 2 days prior to sailing.

Sooooooo does the scenario below meet the test two days prior Canada requirement??????? Time of day doesn’t matter????

Taking the procured home Covid test at 4:30AM (Ohio time) Saturday morning prior to boarding plane bound for San Francisco. Boarding ship at noon ( San Francisco, California time) on Monday.  We are good .. right??? So confusing 🤯🤯🤯

  12. The picture below is a snapshot from Carnival website regarding Covid testing for Canada. I am really confused. We have been vaccinated and have one booster dose so we thought we could test up to THREE days prior to boarding. After reading Canada requires TWO days prior to boarding, which rule do we follow? We were planning on the THREE day prior rule but after reading this…..will we not be able to board the ship in San Francisco without a TWO day prior test? Can we continue with our THREE day test plan and just choose to remain on the ship in Canada? This is a San Francisco round-trip cruise with our final stop being in Victoria, Canada,

  13. Cruising next month round trip from San Francisco to Alaska. First Alaskan cruise. Been on many Caribbean cruises and know exactly what to pack without even thinking about it. Struggling a bit on what to pack and what not to pack on this one. So my question for all of you past Alaskan cruisers ….. what’s the temperature like inside the ship while sailing? Should we still bring shorts to wear around while seeing shows, gambling, drinking, relaxing? Pretty sure we will need sweaters or light jackets while walking around outside on deck but just stumped with inside attire. And from what I’ve heard … the main dining room won’t be as strict on clothing (ex: jeans would be okay). Anyone with any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.
    Happy Sailing

  14. I heard recently that the Miracle had a stabilizer issue a couple of months ago and that it wouldn’t be fixed until dry dock (not scheduled anytime soon).  Anyone else hear of this and have any details? Do I need to pack some sea-sickness medication for our sailing to Alaska next month?

    Thanks and Happy Sailing

  15. We too are cruising next month to Alaska out of San Fran on the Miracle. We are intending to walk from the hotel Riu over to the ship. We plan to take our time and do as many blocks as our early sixty year old bodies allow before a break. LOL This is a re-scheduled trip from August last year due to contracting Covid. Now comes the daunting task of figuring what to pack and what not to pack. This is our first cold weather cruise so it’s going to be much different from our norm.

    ‘’happy safe sailing everyone”
