  1. I just booked a cruise on the magic, and saw that there is dodgeball. Is this something new? Do people really do this? Does anyone have a personal story about this?

We just got off the Magic Saturday & dodgeball was a huge event on the ship. We watched grown men & women play the game competitively. There was always a big crowd of spectators. Rules had to be followed and there was a referee (CD staff) for the game too. Quite entertaining!

  2. Hi everyone!

We're booked in an OS on the Magic in June. With that said, FTTF was available 2 days ago so I purchased it (since we have a tender) for our OS and my BIL's Balcony. Just checked my banking statement and my FTTF charge has been reversed and credited back to me for only one of the purchases. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the new "perks" soon to be announced. FTTF is still listed on both of our bookings as of now & nothing has been removed.

Just got off the phone with Carnival and all is good. FTTF is still listed for both bookings. The PVP just said to keep any eye on the bookings to watch for changes but she was just as puzzled.

    Strange?

  3. My family and I are taking our 2nd cruise on the Magic from Magic 6/18 to 6/25 just wondering if anyone on here could give me some does and dont's and any fun ideas for the following port calls:

    1) Cozumel, Mexico

    2) Belize

    3) Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan

    4) Costa Maya, Mexico

    Thank you in advance

We'll be on the same cruise with our boys 15 & 13! I've been doing a ton of research and have already booked some things. We're not booking through ship excursions. We've decided on zip lining & cave tubing in Belize and a Victor Bodden private tour in Roatan. We're also considering Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel and Blue Kay beach in Costa Maya. Definitely go to the Port of Call page here. It was a ton of help for us. :) I'm sure you're counting down the days, just as we are.

  4. Hi! I just went through the same thing. You can't find one pic of the room set up for 4. I searched videos of Ocean Suite on the Magic and all of her sister ships since they're the same. There is video of the room set up for 4.

The couch becomes a full bed. There is room between the Queen bed and the full. It actually doesn't seem as cramped as I thought.

Search videos and it will come up. Try searching Carnival Valor (not a sister ship but the layout is the same) Ocean Suite 7248 on a video site. ;) At least you'll be able to see the layout.

As for perks, priority boarding and disembarking, that's about it, I believe. There may be some changes to this in the near future though.

  5. We had a suite last summer on Magic. It depends on which one you have. There is a king bed and a couch that makes a large double or possibly a queen. Hopefully they are cool with sleeping together. We actually got upgraded to the suite about 2 weeks before sailing. We were given one on 7. It was a modified for handicap and was enormous. The balcony was double that of a regular suite.

Thanks so much for the response! We booked on 7 as well. Cabin 7242. I believe the couch becomes a full. I'm hoping someone will have a pic of the room set up for 4.

  6. Hi everyone! My family & I will be sailing on the Magic in June. I've been trying to find a picture of the suite (on any Dream class ship) set up for 4 people. My boys 13 & 15 are curious to see it & I'm wondering how much room we will have between beds. Any input on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

    Counting down the days!

  7. Hi! We just got home from sailing on the Splendor. Yes there's an elevator to reach where the rotisserie is. I'm unaware of any App for the ship. I did look for one before we left but never found anything of that sort.

We traveled with my mother in law on this cruise. She roomed in a 2 person cabin with my oldest child. My husband, my youngest and I had a 3 person cabin next door. Our room steward was first to ask if we wanted our youngest to room with Grandma for a couple evenings during the cruise. He just made up the couch as a bed for him.

We had a great time on the ship. The service was fantastic all around. Have a wonderful time!

  8. I just found some info... I think it will work out great!

Tink35: Here is what it says for you....

Balcony features: 2 patio chairs and table

That's great!! Thank you so much! :):)

  9. Yeah, but that's typical with any question about Carnival - call 3 different times and you'll probably get 3 different answers.

If there's two specific rooms you're looking at, let me know and I'll see what I can find out about the partition.

If you don't want to put the info here, you can email me the room numbers - jamesloyd at gmail dot com

I was wondering the same thing. We'll be on the Splendor 7360 & 7362. Crossing my fingers we can open it up.

  10. Thank you so much Gambee for a such a in-depth review filled with gorgeous pictures. My husband & I have been reading, enjoying and considering everything you posted. We are so grateful for all of your input and tips. We will definitely be using some of your suggestions when we board the Breakaway in ONE WEEK! (so happy you finished the review with time to spare ;))

Thanks again for an outstanding review!

    Monica :):)

  11. Love your review so far!

We are also in a mid mini & I was wondering how the space was between the couch/pullman and the closet. We will be traveling with our 2 boys (10 & 12) & I'm a little concerned with storage and getting into the closet when the beds are made up.

Thanks so much for taking the time & letting us join you on your vacation.

We are patiently counting down the days!

    Monica

  12. Great Review. Can you tell if they close everything down on the ship for the three days while in port?

We board on June 16th, can't wait.

Grover, we'll be joining you! Can't wait!

Gambee, this by far, is one of the most well done reviews I've seen. I'm debating on trying to copy and paste it to print it out as a guide. LOL! Thank you so much for taking so much of your time and attention to give us such an in depth look at the Breakaway.

Can't wait to read more. We'll be in a mid mini in a few short weeks (at least I hope it goes by fast). Thank you again for doing this for all of us. Just phenomenal!

    Counting down the days!

    Monica
