You need an extension or some sort of multi-plug as you mostly get just one N.A. outlet to plug things in.  Its European style behind the bed and night tables, so you would need an adaptor and multi-plug to also accommodate the lamps.

Make you bring an outlet bar/extension that it NOT surge protected.  Surge protectors are not allowed.

I recently purchased an inexpensive USB hub, which I can plug up to 4 or 5 USB devices into, but only uses one regular electrical outlet.  It's not a surge protector, so it's allowed. Also, they don't take up much room at all, which is much better than a power strip.  Just an idea.

Thanks so much for the info. Loving this!!

If someone has time to answer - is the Skywalk on Enchanted a balcony style on either side with the railings and opening like on Royal so you can look down thru the gap over the balconies

or is it closed with teak deck/ floor all the way out to the rail but the glass windows inset in the teak deck?

    Just curious!!

I believe it's the latter.  I do recall there were cabin privacy issues on the ships with that "gap", so it's possible they made an appropriate adjustment in the design for the newer ships.

Retreat Pool, and lounging area one deck up on 18. Several of these lounge chairs setups with the planters; looked very inviting. A couple of hot tubs and showers on this level, too. (Sorry for upside down pictures again - argh 😠!)

I can’t quite tell from your photos, but did the Retreat Pool have steps actually into the pool, or just a ladder? This is kind of important to me. Thanks!

The rare Albino.  Unfortunately, Passenger Services on board will ask you to turn that one in and give you your Elite Medallion.  I tried to keep my blue in error one, but they denied my request.

Maybe you could conveniently forget it at home....They will give you a new one onboard.

They told me to just use the one I had, and it shouldn’t effect anything.

  5. I recall hearing some time ago that DVDs and books were also good gifts. DVDs because the crew has to pay for internet service, so DVDs at sea are a better option. Books, since people bringing books to them likely gives them access to books they otherwise wouldn’t have without buying them online.

Anyhow, those were two things that I’d heard were good “gifts” for the crew.

Just some more info…..we got 2 Princess bags in our cabin. Plenty of hangers and drawer space.
we have ordered drinks off the app on several occasions, once to our cabin and a few times while up on deck. They got to us in about 5 minutes. I even ordered hot tea once when I was outside.

gigi’s is excellent…pizza, pasta and salads. We will go back to that again.
you can get the Princess patter hard copy by just asking your room steward….

dining room hands us menus like normal, which is nice.

the ship is a little difficult to navigate at times…several dead ends…

we have a balcony cabin with one of those large balconies on dolphin deck aft…really nice, 3 times as big as the other balconies. The cabin is a bit smaller…but we wanted a large balcony with a shower…did not want a tub to have to step into.

    everyone is wonderful!

So, if you have the drink package, and order drinks off the app to your cabin, there's no charge? I just seem to recall when I was on the Regal in late 2019 that if you ordered drinks to your cabin, even with the drink package, they would charge you.

Here are Patters from the first 3 days. A bit wrinkled b/c I’ve been carrying them around with me. I’ve had tech problems- be sure to upgrade to the latest version of the app before boarding! The app drains 10% off my iPhone 7 battery every time I open it 😞 My sister’s Samsung Galaxy is having no problems.

I used the app to order an Americano in the buffet this morning, but neglected to hit “confirm order” on the first attempt. On second attempt it arrived quickly and piping hot.

    service continues to be amazing.

Thanks for posting these! I'll be hopping on the ship just as you all are disembarking next weekend.

Any idea what the total passenger count is on board for your sailing?

    Thanks!

I read the other day about Royal Caribbean.  They are not playing around.  If you go unvaccinated, they will test you and charge you for it, plus have other charges as well.  You will be required to wear a mask over entire ship.  You cannot use certain areas and the casino was definitely mentioned.

I was wondering how they would learn if you were vaccinated or not (especially travelling from Florida), but I guess if you have to fill out paperwork like Princess has us do online, they might be requesting a copy of vaccination card.  I praise them for what they are trying to accomplish and looking after the safety of passengers and crew.

Yeah, short of carrying your vaccination card with you all over the ship the whole cruise, I'd like to know how they'd otherwise tell if you were or were not vaccinated for entry into various events or venues onboard, or allowed to leave the ship at port stops. Maybe it's tagged to your Medallion account somehow? 🤷‍♀️

  9. My folks and I were booked on the Caribbean Princess for an 8-night Southern Caribbean sailing, and the replacement cruise they offered leaves the same day, from the same port, and is instead on the Enchanted Princess for a 10-night sailing!  Even better, my folks were able to get an ADA accessible cabin (one of them is going to be using a wheelchair), which they wouldn't have had on the old sailing!

My cabin is not on the same deck as theirs (not a problem), I'm sailing on a brand new ship, with two more nights (includes Princess Plus package, btw), for a sailing that would have cost me twice as much otherwise!  We're ecstatic and thrilled with the new sailing!  🥰

We got the email too. Our November 20th ABC island cruise was cancelled on the Caribbean Princess. However; they offered a move over to the Enchanted Princess to the Eastern side for 10 days for the same price as our original that was 8 days.  Same day, November 20th, 2021!  We called and said YES!

Yep, got that email this afternoon, and we've opted to go on the Enchanted Princess 10-day sailing as well!

Looks like they've cancelled sailings on the Caribbean Princess, the Island Princess, and the Ruby Princess.  The rep I talked to says they're consolidating the fleet a bit to keep in line with what the CDC wants in terms of number of sailings.  Called my folks to give them the bad news/good news, with an emphasis on the fact that we'll get two more days on our cruise, on a brand new ship!  Pretty geeked about it!

  11. Purely speculation on my part, but my guess is that based on what’s happening now they will delay, if not shelve entirely the refurbishment of the Victory. I sailed on her just before she went to Spain, and there really wasn’t anything wrong with her at all anyway. It is still very much a pretty and well-appointed ship. This refurbishment seemed to be more of a growth activity, rather than something desperately needing to happen to keep her in service.

Carnival, and other cruise lines are going to be looking for ways to save cash right now until they are operating at full steam ahead again. I suspect that they will decide to push off that project for awhile.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Hard to imagine that Carnival Corp would suspend Princess, but not Carnival at some point.

Each of the cruise lines under Carnival Corp are run as entirely separate operations, plus Princess tends to skew older in terms of passenger demographics.  Between that and the couple of ships that have been in the spotlight over this, I imagine they're triaging the situation by suspending operations of Princess for now, and waiting to see how things develop in the coming days and weeks before they broaden that suspension to include other cruise lines.

  13. I've gone cruising many times on my own, and can attest to the fact that I meet more people that way than I do when I'm traveling with a group.  Much like some of the others have responded, I also enjoy playing bingo, making a bit of a donation to the casino now and again, playing trivia, or simply just hanging out reading or working on a knitting or crochet project of some kind.

There's a wonderful kind of freedom to traveling solo.  You can wake up when you like, stay out late or turn in early.  Eat when and where you like.  And all of this without having to consult anyone else other than your own preferences at the time.  Have a great cruise!  ❤️

  14. I was on the Regal the week before last (Thanksgiving week), and after having experienced the typical internet speeds on cruise ships over the years, I was astounded at how fast and reliable the new internet service was.  I used it for typical emails, gaming, music, and also used it on my iPad for video streaming on multiple services.  It was lightning fast! There were a couple of times when it glitched, or wasn't responding as expected, but they were very isolated incidents.

Someone above had mentioned about having the ability to stream onboard videos on your mobile devices, but I don't recall that being an option when I was sailing.  Perhaps that is something for the future?  I did have my first experience of on-demand video from my cabin, however. In addition to limited live TV channels (news, sports mostly) they also offered some TV shows, and a bunch of movies.  They also had a category for "recently added" movies that expanded over the course of the week. They would show certain movies at MUTS or in the other onboard theaters, and then immediately add them to this category for watching in your cabin.  So, if you didn't get a chance to see a public presentation of one movie, you'd be able to catch it in your cabin the next day.

    Enjoy!

I'm sorry, but at some point someone should have looked at your pizza and pasta and decided to not serve them.

Why serve something that you know looks wrong!?

The most charitable thing I can think is that with a brand new ship, perhaps the ovens were new, and the cooking staff wasn't used to their particular settings? *shrug*

Otherwise, you're absolutely correct. If you don't tell them when it goes wrong, they have no way to know that there's something to fix.

    Hello Experienced Cruisers,

This is my second Princess cruise, we did the Emerald to Alaska in 2016. When we were on that ship the food in the main dinning room was so fantastic we cancelled our reservation three times for the steak house. One of the things we loved about the main dinning room was that our waiters and his team, knew us and could almost guess what we wanted before we could tell them. We loved them so much, we cried on the first night. Anyway will it ruin things if we go to the steak house  night? We are traveling with a group and I think we will get a coupon for a discount. So, I was thinking we would do things differently. Would we end up in a different assigned table. Please tell the advantages to going this route on the first night. We had steak in the MDR> I thought it was pretty good. But, I im not much of a steak person. Your insight is gladly appreciated. On a side note the dinning room is one of the main reason I love cruising. Thank you

Personally, I enjoy doing specialty dining on the first night, since it tends to not be very busy at all that night. You can usually walk right in, even without a reservation, I have found. I sail solo a great deal, and prefer to 't tend to plan a lot ahead in terms of dining choices.
