We sailed early Jan and had lovely weather. Pleasant temperatures and no rain. Fewer crowds .
You have to be prepared for all weather conditions though. We took rain gear, and thick winter coats just in case. I’ve frozen in Netherlands in April. It’s pot luck and hope for the best. Cruises are cheaper then too.

If you do get to the Blue Lagoon it’s essential to remember your locker number and exactly what part of the changing rooms you came out of. I couldn’t find my locker for a long time wrapped in a towel 😂and panic started to set in!!

The same thing happened to us! It was listed on cruise mapper as Tilbury, but pleased to say we sailed back into Greenwich ( Midnight Sun cruise 2022)
so hopefully it will be Greenwich for you too🤞

There won't be any announcements on any cruise lines for the same reasons they don't test for it anymore. We are living with it. Just assume there is Covid on every ship and take whatever precautions you and your doctor feel are necessary.
Quite right. I’ve picked up Covid on two different cruises now. It’s out there everywhere.

My concern would be if they just leave it in the hands of hotel staff once they get it there, and not in the normal flow of control as from ship. The answer is not to leave any Crown Jewels or other valuables. People won’t want to steal dirty laundry.

Sounds like a very fair deal to me. Why hesitate? I’m sure Viking will look after your luggage and you can carry your camera and leave your laptop at home.

OMG. If I can't get a non-stop, I won't take a cruise.
Guess Australia is out of the question too.
We only like non stop flights now that we are older. When we were young, flights didn’t bother us😀

That's what I feared. If that's the case I will have to think of a plan b.
Sorry to have to say this. We love Viking cruises but getting to San Juan is not easy for us from the UK.

No. We did that cruise some years ago and had to change flights going out and on return. Sorry can’t remember where we changed exactly.
We found the flights exhausting and will not go to Caribbean with Viking again just because of the flightsI would think long and hard .
You might consider another cruise line that sails directly to Barbados.

I stayed up one night to try the soup. It was a Midnight Sun cruise with sea days to sleep in so easy.
Well I’ve missed out on another eating possibility . 😱😀

I don’t remember Mamsens being open at midnight on any of our cruises. Maybe it’s because we’re in bed by then 🤣

How much is this tour? We’re thinking of doing this next year. Sounds great to me.
I’ve done these many years ago, but this sounds a bit less rushed than a one day tour.

Oh no!! We loved the apple pie and ice cream.
I expect we’ll survive though 🫣

Following this discussion about CPAP .
My husband uses one. Does this mean there is only one outlet in the room? These days we have iPhones/I pads and cameras to charge.

No, not a black cab. A London private company that do port pick ups!! We gave the postcode too!
We had to direct him from our mobile phones on Google 😳 After I’d calmed down, he explained that he was new to the UK and was not familiar with the route!! So I let it go.

He was useless 😳

You'll be moored mid river, and then transfered (by one of the Thames Clipper boats) onto Greenwich pier. This is in a pedestrianised area. The nearest place a taxi can pick you up is outside the Gypsy Moth pub. (Greenwich Church Street, SE10 9BL). It's only a minute or two walk across the pedestrianised area to that pub.
Good advice. Our driver couldn’t find the Cutty Sark and we were left hanging around for over an hour!!

I'm having a wonderful time on the Neptune now, except for my interactions with the cruise consultant. I basically would need to see her three times to complete a booking.
My question- has anyone booked on board and then transfered to your regular Viking agent the booking?
I want my land agent to get the commission for all my aggravation with the on board agent. Thanks
Why do you need three appointments. We booked with one appointment on board.
Three appointments sound like a lot of hassle to me.

You absolutely can book on board and when you leave the ship move the booking.
Because we have an agent on our record, the last booking we did on board, the agent moved the booking directly to her when we completed the booking.
No worries at all... Just ask for it to be moved if you have his/her email, or do it yourself when you get home. You have 30 or 60 days or some length of time to move the booking.
Not sure that’s possible if you live in UK. Beware.

The burgers were thin and chewy on the Jupiter recently. Awful.
