We have never been on a cruise for New Year's Eve.  Anyone have any idea what RC will have for NYE on the day we board?

Can anyone tell me how the internet was on Grandeur?  We are sailing in May and will need to work while on board.  I know it should be a vacation but sometimes you just need to work.

I would appreciate anyone who can let me know if I will have problems.

Any word on when the LOS will sail from Galveston?

We cruised 2 years ago at Christmas. We took a fleece jacket, wore it the first evening. We wore shorts for the rest of the cruise.

Two years ago on the Liberty, they had a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, the Captain read the Christmas story, and as others stated Santa came on Christmas morning. All the ports were decorated for Christmas.

We took a small battery operated Christmas tree for our cabin as well as decorated our cabin door with magnetic Christmas decorations. I found some garage door decorations that were magnetic.

I bought garage magnets to decorate our door on our Christmas cruise on the Liberty of the Seas. I brought 2 different decorations (one santa and one a snowman). I put the santa on the outside door and the snowman on the bathroom door. When searching for Christmas decorations, I saw many different type of garage magnet decorations that could be used for different occasions.

This will be our first cruise as Diamond. Can someone explain how the drinks work? Is it only wine in the DL that you can get and only at certain time in the evening?

We walked down the road from the pier where the tender came in....walked a few blocks. Then went out on a boat from there. There was a restaurant at the place where we got on the boat. No beach access that I remember.

If you plan to walk off with your luggage, do you have to go to Guest Services and get a scheduled time (like we did on the Navigator)? Or how does that work?

Both ships are still in Galveston, I saw them from the Pier 23 cam. Talk on that blog is it weather related and not the tanker.

Is the channel closed in Galveston?

Do they have the snorkel equipment for rent on Maya Key? If so how much?

We will be on RCCLs Navigator in March. Was wondering if you tender to the shore and then leave from there for the Helmet Dive excursion?

Or will they pick you up from the ship for the excursion? If they pick you up from the ship, do you return back to the ship or to the pier?

Also the last time we did one of these excursions, they took pictures of us underwater and we were able to purchase these. Will there be pictures of us to purchase? And if so how much money will it cost?

Last year on the Liberty out of Ft. Lauderdale, we were told we had to able to take our luggage down the stairs. They made us line up on deck 4 (I think) and then we disembarked on deck 1. We could not use the elevators, had to use the stairs.

We are going on the Navigator out of Galveston. I am curious about how disembarkation works if you want to walk off with your luggage.

Do you have to walk down any stairs with your luggage?

If you print your luggage tags before you leave for the port, this will save you time once you arrive at the port. If you have luggage tags in place, all you have to do is leave your luggage with the porter and then head for the ship!

A passenger was taken from labadee on Wednesday, March 12, via helicopter. Does anyone know what medical facility they would have been transferred to? I was just wondering where they would receive medical care from?
