I don't think much will change once this pandemic passes. People will revert to who they were and life will go on.

Which is why I probably will never cruise again. I've gotten ill on 3 of my last 4 cruises. On one, a guy who was clearly very sick coughed and sneezed in the combination coffeehouse/library (on Holland America) without covering his nose or mouth, spewing germs on people and furniture alike. A friend of mine just back from the Grand Princess - yes, that cruise - said people were coughing and sneezing in the crowded elevators without covering up. Some people are just totally inconsiderate, and nothing anyone can do, apparently, will change that.

  2. Cruising on the Grand next month. Little things don't bother me, so I'll have a good time regardless of the condition. But I'm happy about the new beds and the specialty coffee on the Lido. Not happy about the redesign of Sabatini's. It was so warm and inviting - now it's cold and gray - I'll still go, but it's too bad.

  3. I have noticed that Princess has started to offer (with a fee) TRX classes on some ships. Does anyone know if the Star Princess has the TRX anchors installed in the gym? I plan on bringing my own TRX straps and working on those on my own - if they have the anchors!

    Thanks,

    Dom

  4. Sailing on the Crown next month. I am considering booking "Taku Lodge Feast & 5-Glacier Seaplane Discovery” out of Juneau - or possibly just the flight without the lodge.

Comments from anyone who has done either? Is the two hours extra for the lodge visit (and meal) worthwhile?

    Thanks,

    Don

Hi Don, The Taku Lodge seaplance and salmon feast was one of the best excursions I've ever taken. Yes, it's expensive, but it's totally worth it.

  5. Has anyone ever packed a very small coffee maker and made your own coffee in your stateroom?

Hi Luci - a coffemaker per se is not allowed, but what you can do is bring your own good coffee and a french press, and add the hot water yourself. The issue then is getting water hot enough to make decent coffee.

Also, re: the coffee card, it is the same price, but you can use the card on a future cruise if you don't use it all up.
